In Transit: A Journey in the Life

“A few times in my life I’ve had moments of absolute clarity. When for a few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. It’s as though it had all just come into existence.
I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I have lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present, and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be.”

Thought about“museum”in the metaverse…
What is the experience like when visiting a virtual museum? In a virtual space, the virtual environment is no longer bound by gravity or limited by the physical rules of nature and time. We can create unique visiting routes different from those in physical museums.
Rules in the Upside Down Museum :
00. Solo VR experience
(appreciating objects is a journey of self-exploration)
01. Freedom of visiting sequence
(different categories of exhibition halls)
02. Outcome depends on user
(time and frequency of interaction)
03. Multi-perspective of appreciations

The biggest difference between a virtual museum and a physical museum lies in the spatial organization of the exhibition areas and the visitor routes.
Imagine the concept of the metaverse museum is a cube. Each of the exhibition space are no longer divided by regions or floors but existing on the six faces of the cube.

Loop of each category
Space Structure
a.Sculpture(-y)
b.Armor(+y)
c.Instrument(-z)
d.Animals(+z)
e.Decorate Art(-x)
f.Painting(+x)

The Upside Down Museum is divided into six themed exhibition areas, each of which exists on the positive and negative faces of the X, Y, and Z axes of the cube. The positive and negative faces of different axes correspond to similar exhibition themes, and the spatial layout also reflects the theme, presenting exhibition spaces of different scales.

The chamfered surfaces and blue light serve as spatial cues, providing shortcuts to switch to different themed exhibition areas.
-Y axes Sculpture
"Two sides of the same coin." The column in the sculpture exhibition area on the -Y axis can serve as display shelves for exhibits in the armor exhibition area on the +Y axis.

+X axes Painting
In VR goggles, you can experience dynamic art exhibitions where you can see moving artworks.

+Y axes Armor
With VR goggles on, you can interact with the chessboard in the exhibition area.
