ARK is an all-terrain watercraft-launching mobile system that aims to solve the logistical confusion and delays that arise in the context of Search-and-Rescue operations during hurricanes and Floods. Ark eliminates the need to alternate between ground mobile resources such as transport, non-transport land vehicles and rescue watercrafts depending on the conditions and obstacles that are present within a specific area affected by debris and varying water levels. Thanks to its deployable watercraft component, users can drastically increase their response time when the stage of operations moves from the land to the water. A standalone watercraft component allows the operator to maintain high speed and full maneuverability in strong current conditions. ARK aims to integrate innovative solutions and technologies into redefining the general understanding of a rescue vehicle’s functions and capabilities.

SCALE MODEL ASSEMBLY PROCESS
The intent of this project was to delve into the world of first responders and to study, understand and empathise with their way of life as well as the challenges they may encounter throughout their work. By exploring their needs and relating them to products that are currently available on the market it could be determined that an opportunity exists for a cost-effective, sustainable and innovative transport solution that could brave the harsh conditions of areas affected by floods and hurricanes and improve the performance and comfort of first responders throughout rescue operations.

AS AN INTRODUCTION TO SURFACE MODELLING USING SOLIDWORKS, RAVEN REIMAGINes THE CONVENTIONAL DESIGN OF A MOTORCYCLE HELMET WITH THE INTEGRATION OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES. THE UNIQUE SHAPE OF THE VISOR ALLOWS OF A WIDER FIELD OF VISION AND THE HUD SYSTEM ENHANCES THE DISPLAY OF NAVIGATION INFORMATION.

THE MAIN STRATEGY USED IN MODELLING THE HELMET BEGAN WITH THE CREATION OF THE OVERALL SHAPE USING SURFACE LOFTS, SWEEPS, EXTRUSIONS AND TRIMS. THE MASTER PART WAS THEN SPLIT INTO DIFFERENT PART FILES TO BE FURTHER DEVELOPED INDIVIDUALLY. THE INDIVIDUAL PART WERE THEN ASSEMBLED IN POSITION AND MATERIALS WERE ASSIGNED IN ORDER TO PREPARE THE MODEL FOR A FINAL RENDER.

THE FINANCIAL DISTRICT OF DOWNTOWN TORONTO IS CHARACTERIZED BY SOARING MONOLITHIC SKYSCRAPERS AND AN ABUNDANCE OF CONCRETE, STEEL, AND GLASS. THE NEEDLE IS PART A SILICON ADHESIVE STRIP THAT IS APPLIED ON THE DESIRED PART OF THE SKIN. THE GROOVES ON THE STRIP MATCH THOSE ON THE DEVICE.
THE DEVICE CAN EASILY SLIDE INTO PLACE, THEN BE RELEASED BY PRESSING DOWN ON THE CLIPS LOCATED ON EACH END
A TOUCH SCREEN DISPLAY OFFERS ACCESS TO MULTIPLE APPS DEDICATED TO TRACKING BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS AND MONITORING TRENDS. THE SLIDER LOCKS THE SCREEN AND PREVENTS ANY ACCIDENTAL INPUTS.

WITH BUSINESS PEOPLE LIVING IN TORONTO IN MIND, THE MERCEDES CONCEPT 2030 AIMS TO REDEFINE THE NOTION OF TIME SPENT ON THE ROAD WITHIN CITIES AND ACCROSS PROVINCES. THE VEHICLE IS COMPOSED OF AN INTERCHANGEABLE DRIVETRAIN AND A DETACHABLE TRANSPORT POD THAT CAN BE PLACED ON A DEDICATED MAGLEV TRANSNATIONAL SYSTEM.
