LOCH NESS It’s the most famous lake in Scotland. It’s a freshwater loch. It’s near the city of Inverness in the North of Scotland. It’s very deep and some people believe that a monster lives there.
Nessie Some people believe that a large monster lives in Loch Ness. They call it Nessie The first sight was in 565 when Saint Columba saved the life of a person, who was being attacked by a monster. The first modern sighting occurred in 1933. The first photo was taken in 1934 and shows a large creature with a long, thin neck swimming in the water. Most Nessie witnesses describe something with two humps, a tail, a red mouth and horns or antennae on the top of the creature's head. It has appeared in some books and films. There are people who think that is not real. We can only wait and see if time and patience, with a little luck, solves this mysterious riddle.
THE KILT It’s a traditional tartan skirt. Each Scottish clan has its own tartan pattern. Men wear kilts on special occasions : weddings, graduations … and on Hogmanay, the last day of the year . They also wear a sporran (a small purse) on their kilts and stockings.
