PRE – PRIMARY SCHOOL August Holidays We break up for the holidays on Friday, 4 August at 11:00. Note that there will be no holiday care available on Monday, 7 August and Tuesday, 8 August, as all the Pre-Primary staff will be attending First Aid Training. Please advise Leah if you are in need of holiday care for the remainder of the holidays. Productions Thank you, Orange group, for a wonderful production on Friday. It is Pink Group’s turn this Friday at 10:00. Parent Interviews Please sign up for a parent/teacher chat on either Monday, 31 July or Tuesday, 1 August. Note that these are at 10-minute intervals. If you feel that you will need a longer time slot, please arrange this with your child’s teacher. Grade R 2018 In Grade R, your child will be using the Singapore Maths Programme, see the letter sent home on Monday about the ordering and paying for textbooks. Grade 1 2018 Those parents, whose child will be in Grade 1 next year at Sacred Heart College, are reminded to return the reply slip that they received last week. A R1000 deposit is required to secure a place in Grade 1. Please pay this by 4 August and send proof of payment to Rashida. Baker Baker Thank you to our parents for their wonderful support. The children have really loved being involved in this and we have managed to raise a further R4229.00 since the initial amount of R2075.00. We shall purchase more Reggio equipment with the money raised. Please remember to send in R5 every Friday, as many children seem to be forgetting to contribute lately. Some teachers have done their schedule again as the children have loved this activity. We are aware that there is not enough time for all the children to have a second turn, so we thought that we would have a combined party at the end of the year for those who still need to contribute. Story Evening Remember to attend our story evening at 17:30 on Wednesday, 26 July. Dress in pyjamas and bring a blanket, your teddy bear, as well as your favourite story. 2
Bottles, bottles, bottles As you are aware, the Sacred Heart Festival takes place on the 7th October. Teacher Buti will be in charge of one of the stands. She requests that parents donate a full bottle of something for the stall. It can range from a bottle of perfume, tobasco sauce, wine, or tomato sauce. The more imaginative the better. Please hand these in to Rashida. We would like to collect these as soon as possible. Library This week will be the last week that books will be issued this term. Sports Day On the first Saturday of next term, 9 September, all children from Grade 000 to Grade R will be involved in Sports Day with the rest of the College.
