Dear Pre-Primary and Primary School Parents
GENERAL: FOR ALL PARENTS Welcome Back Welcome back to what promises to be an exciting and busy end to the school year. We have included all the dates and events for the Primary and Pre-Primary sections to ensure that none of our parents miss out on any of the activities. Please take time to familiarize yourselves with all the upcoming events, especially the Orientation 2017, as this is a compulsory admin day for all parents. Accounts and Discounts Please be advised that all accounts need to be settled with the Finance Department by no later than Monday 31, October. This is vital, as we are trying to finalize our numbers and classes for next year. We remind parents that should you pay next year’s fees in full by the 15 December, you will be entitled to a 6.5% discount on the fee amount. Fees paid in full by 31 January 2017 will be entitled to a 5% discount. Wellness Week 25– 31 October As part of the school’s focus on wellness, the children were given a special assembly by Sr. Peta-Anne on how to look after their bodies by ensuring that they eat lots of fresh, rather than, processed foods; drink lots of water, not fizzy drinks; and exercise regularly. Sr. Peta-Anne also highlighted the fact that our bodies are unique and what is most important is to be healthy, rather than a magazine cover look-a-like. Her message was clear: we need to love our bodies and look after them properly. October is also cancer awareness month and we will hold a civvies day and special assembly on Monday, 31 October to highlight the impact of this illness. We ask each child to contribute R10 towards this fundraising event. All funds will go to CHOC.

Thanks We thank all the families who gave so generously to the Little Eden collection taken up during the First Holy Communion Mass. An amount of R1803.00 was raised for this worthy cause, which we have been supporting for over thirty years. Prayers for Mrs Basson We ask the school community to pray for Mrs Basson who is undergoing heart surgery this afternoon. We wish her a successful operation and a speedy recovery.
PRIMARY SCHOOL Grade 5 Camp: The Grade 5 children left for camp at 06:40 this morning and arrived safely at 08:15 in time to start the programme. They are expected back at approximately 14:00 on Friday. Congratulations Last Wednesday, at the High School assembly, Mr Northmore, Head of College, held the raffle draw. We congratulate Zuko Ntshikila on winning the iPhone 7 which was handed to him at the Intermediate Phase assembly last Thursday. What was so special, was that Zuko asked Mr van der Merwe to call Lumko Ntshikila up and Zuko then handed the phone to his older brother.
