Dear Pre-Primary and Primary School Parents
GENERAL: FOR ALL PARENTS Sacred Heart Day and Grade 6 Exhibition of World Religions On Thursday 6 October, we will celebrate our Feast Day with a whole-school mass in the Macartin Centre. Parents are most welcome to join us. After the mass, the Grade 1 – 6 children will do an activity with the Three2Six children. They will also be given the traditional coke and sticky bun. There will be a special co-curricular programme and aftercare, but you are welcome to take your child home at the end of the school day i.e. Foundation Phase at 13:30 and Intermediate Phase at 14:00. In the evening, the Grade 6 learners will host their families in the Macartin Centre. There will be a display of their Religion Projects, and the learners will engage in a time of celebration of all religious traditions. All Grade 6 parents are expected to attend with their families. Term Dates 2017 On the 30 September, Mr Northmore emailed a letter to all parents regarding the changes to the 2017 Calendar, particularly the start dates for Term 1. For your convenience a copy of the letter has been enclosed in this week’s hardcopy of the newsletter.
PRIMARY SCHOOL Sacred Heart Day Thursday 6 October All Primary School children must wear their P.E uniform with their blazers on Thursday 6 October. First Holy Communion: Sunday 09 October The First Holy Communion Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel on Sunday, 09 October at 10:00. We pray that God’s blessings will be with the children on their special day.

Foundation Phase Stationery and Textbook Orders for 2017 PNA have supplied order forms for the Grade 1-3 classes for 2017. The order forms were sent home on Tuesday. Please note that you are not compelled to use PNA but for your convenience they will have an order box in our Primary School Office until Thursday 20 October. NO PAYMENT must accompany the order form.
PRE – PRIMARY SCHOOL Swimming Please note that swimming will start again on 10 October. Make sure your child’s swimming costume, swimming cap and towel are labelled. Quest swimming has already resumed. This takes place on a Monday and Thursday. Swimming days are as follows: Monday Red Group Blue Group Tuesday Purple Group Pink Group Wednesday Red Group Thursday Orange Group Pink Group Brown Group Friday Brown Group Blue Group Orange Group Purple Group Hats Please remember to send your child to school with a hat every day. We are implementing a “no hat, no play” policy. Sponsorship Forms Thank you to those families who have returned their sponsorship forms. Reading Evening Remember to diarize 19 October at 17:30 for our reading evening. 2
FROM THE SPORTS DESK Summer Season Co-Curriculars The summer season co-curricular program starts next week. Children will receive 2 copies of the new program - please look through it with them to ensure it is filled in properly, and return one copy to your child’s class teacher. Swimming during P.E. lessons Swimming during P.E. starts next week. Please ensure your child has their school/navy blue costume, swimming cap, towel and suntan lotion.
