PRIMARY SCHOOL Foundation Phase Grade 1 The Grade Ones are learning about keeping their bodies healthy and taking good care of their bodies. The children were encouraged to do kind deeds at home‌ Please keep the teachers posted! Grade 2 We completed our section on addition. We are working on word problems and encouraging the children to read the problem and find the solution in a practical way. The world of plants have been quite intriguing. We learnt that some plants do not need soil at all but get their food and moisture from the air. Remember to complete your internet exercise with mom and dad. Grade 3 In Mathematics, we have been working on addition and subtraction with renaming (i.e. borrowing) within 1000. In Science, we are busy learning about the major organ systems in our body and how the different systems work together when we carry out an activity. Remember to prepare for the test. World Water Day – 22 March 2018 We hope to encourage the conservation of this essential resource and to think of parts in our country where water is scarce. Congratulations Congratulations to Ntsumi Mayimela (2E) on the birth of her baby sister Naledi on 12 March.

PRE – PRIMARY SCHOOL Special Visitor’s Day A heads up about this day which takes place for all our children in the pre-primary school on 23 March. The children are encouraged to invite someone special in their lives to this event. Generally, grandparents or aunts and uncles are invited to this day. If only the parent/s of the child are available they are also welcome. Each child needs to have their “person” to attend. Please book them now! The morning involves a short sports display as well as a tea with the special guests. It begins at 9:00am and children are welcome to leave school with their guests at the end of proceedings, which is usually around 10:30. Some children prefer to remain at school. Parking Please make sure that when you are dropping your child at school, you park in the allocated parking bays. The pre-primary does not have a “stop and drop” zone. We 3

encourage children to walk to their classes independently but parents need to walk their children to the entrance. Parents hold up traffic by expecting their child to jump out the car and walk by themselves to the entrance. Traffic is very busy in the morning and our children are small and not always visible to those reversing out of the parking bays. Auction Under the Stars Please find the attached invitation and remember to RSVP. It going to be spectacular! Book a baby sitter, you deserve a night off!
