DEAR SACRED HEART COMMUNITY,
What a glorious year it was to be at the Academy of Sacred Heart in 202223! Our school theme was “Journey of Hope” which we felt was very on point given the end of the pandemic and the reintroduction of so many beloved activities and traditions. We completed our SHCOG year of reflection and were able to reflect on our strengths and begin to work on areas for growth. Change was needed in some areas and we looked to our Foundress and leaders for inspiration. We keep growing in hope and welcome innovation and change. St Madeleine Sophie continues to remind us “So let us not fear change, but rather, let us embrace it with open hearts and minds, knowing that it is through change that we can truly transform ourselves and the world around us.”
Our students continued to excel in all areas, academics, athletics, faith and community. The Arts flourished with musical theatre and visual arts displayed throughout the year. We were able to reintroduce service days/opportunities for both students and personnel. Of great importance to us, perhaps beyond every other accomplishment, is that our students steadily demonstrated a strong Catholic faith through worship, action, behavior and commitment.
Our partners continued to support us whether sponsoring events, or to fund major projects such as the Future Founders do each year. In the Spring of 2023, this alumae group funded a second Innovation Lab at the Mater campus for our younger students. What a wonderful addition to an already very vibrant campus.
Our “journey of hope” was evident at every turn. Goal 1, criteria #3 stipulates that the school community reflects an ethos of joy, hope and celebration and its programs assert that there is meaning and value in life. The culture at Sacred Heart is indeed one which reflects a very strong sense of joy and belonging. Each girl is seen, named and known. She is special and loved for herself. This cultivates strength and confidence, courage and empathy for a lifetime!

Founded in 1913, the Rosary Alumnae Association was the very first in the Network of Sacred Heart schools, even pre-dating the Associated Alumnae of the Sacred Heart (AASH). Being an ASH Alumna comes with benefits that last a lifetime. The purpose of the Association is to promote the interests of Academy of the Sacred Heart; to strengthen the bonds of friendship among Association members, the religious and the faculty; and to foster the ideals developed under the educational system of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat by supporting the goals and criteria of Sacred Heart education.

MOTHERS’ CLUB AND FATHERS’ CLUB 2022-2023
The ASH Mothers’ and Fathers’ Club are committed to enriching our daughters’ experience at the Rosary, offering a myriad of opportunities for involvement and connection within the Sacred Heart community. The Mothers’ Club has a calendar filled with engaging social events, providing numerous avenues for mothers to actively contribute to and feel connected. Simultaneously, the Fathers’ Club plays a pivotal role in creating a supportive environment for fathers to engage in their daughters’ educational journey. From the Mothers’ Club Luncheon to the Fathers’ Club Mardi Gras Trailer we are so grateful for the dedication of our Sacred Heart mothers, fathers, grandparents and grand friends.

In the 2022-2023 school year, the Rosary continued to host a variety of special events that brought our community together. Among the highlights are the much anticipated Fall Auction and Spring Congé, both significant communitybuilding events that our school families eagerly await each year. Not only do these events foster a sense of camaraderie, but they also play a crucial role as fundraisers for the school. Looking back, our auction, and Spring Congé achieved remarkable success by raising a combined total of $437,595. We extend our special thanks to the dedicated parent volunteers listed, whose leadership was instrumental in the success of these events.
