The scribes of SirNaHigh publications (The Suara-English and Og Lilingan-Filipino) took home six gold, three silver, and four bronze medals in individual category and group contests during the triple SB journalism tilt conducted by the ZN Press Club Inc.

The said event was attended by the different high schools in the triple SB last January 28–29. Informative lectures and a time-restricted workshop on different categories were facilitated. The lectures covered News

Writing, Editorial Writing, Feature Writing, Sports Writing, Layouting, Photojournalism, Cartooning, Online Publication, Radio Broadcasting, including the two newly added categories such as Mobile Journalism and Vlogging. Here are the winners of this year’s campus journalism tilt in the English category: Jay-Rald Yague, (1st), Feature Writing, also awarded as good reporter in radio broadcasting; Julamrie Unding (1st), journalism vlogging; Mark Adrian Rada (2nd), photojournalism; Czhekh Ahmeyr Ismael (3rd), cartooning; and Kristel May Montimor (3rd), mobile journalism.

ALS enrollees to increase next school year

A total of 346 new Alternative Learning System (ALS) enrollees are expected to add next school year to the 364 enrolled this year.

According to the report from the ALS coordinator, Janodi Dapii, a huge number of enrollees are coming from barangays Culasian, which has 27 enrollees; Sirawai Proper, with 25 enrollees; and San Vicente at Lubok, with 24 enrollees.
