GARMIN ON LEMOND AT TDF Garmin-Sharp professional cycling team will once again warm up at this year’s Tour de France on their LeMond Revolution Trainers. Having the rear wheel omitted entirely from the trainer setup benefits Garmin-Sharp mechanics, with no need to carry dedicated trainer wheels. With Greg LeMond at the helm of the newly formed LeMond Inc. business the team in Minneapolis have been working hard on product development. The result is an 11 speed compatible version of the class leading Revolution Trainer, available from September 2013.
NEW ENVE 27.5 DH RIMS
The Santa Cruz Bronson comes with 27.5 Enve AM wheels brother to the 27.5 DH rims
Could this be a sign of things to come... With the mountain bike world still trying to decide what wheels are best Enve have launched what might be a glimpse at the future of Downhill. With the top racers experimenting with wheel choice for different rounds of the World Cup, 27.5 wheels, or 650b as they are also known, could provide the best of both worlds - stability of a 29er but with similar acceleartion of a 26inch wheel. The All Mountain version of Enve’s 27.5 have already proven very popular especially with

the release of the Santa Cruz Bronson. The Santa Cruz Syndicate riders have been using the 27.5 All Mountain rims for a while now but will we see there V10’s sat on a set of the DH 27.5 at a world cup race? Whether that happens or they stick with the Enve 26inch DH rim they won’t be let down by arguably the strongest rims out here!

CASTELLI LIGHTNESS GLOVE Some things just work, the best products are the ones you don’t think about while riding, and one of my essentials is the Castelli Lightness glove. Basically a thermoflex glove with a Clarino palm. No rocket science no earth shattering tech here. Just a great lightweight glove that works well for much of the year in most conditions. The fact it looks cool is an added bonus.
HOW MANY MILES?
Here at Saddleback we don’t only distribute some of the best brands out there in the cycling world, but we also ride bikes too. So that got us thinking in the office how many miles do we all ride each week on average. So we got our calculator out and we came to the grand total of 1,646 miles ridden per week.
1646miles:
It would take us 17 days to ride round the earth
3 days to journey to the centre of the earth 165 days to ride to the moon
Email: incycle@saddleback.co.uk tell us how many miles you do.

THE ARUNDEL STAINLESS CAGE
ARUNDEL + GARMIN Arundel have for a long time now supplied Team GARMIN-Sharp with reliable bottle cages, built to withstand the demands of Pro Tour life. Pictured over is GARMIN rider Vansummeren, putting the Stainless Cage through its paces in one of the toughest race environments on the calendar… PBX. The Stainless cage is gracefully bent from 4.2mm steel tubing. The mounting spine is a stamped piece of art. This is not a standard metal cage. The finished cage is polished to a brilliant shine and will add to the aesthetics of any machine.

ARUNDEL UNO SEAT BAG Carrying on with my less-ismore theme the Uno Seat Pack is a light easy to attach and secure seat pack. It has room for essentials you need, but more importantly it has no bells and whistles that break or fail. Just 100% of what you need designed by riders for riders, It puts many bags to shame, especially at £12 rrp.

TOUR SERIES

The Felt-Colbornes-Hargroves Cycles Race Team have recently competed in the Tour Series against some of the UK’s top riders, this included Saddleback employees Rich Mardle and Justin Hoy. The rounds in Canary Wharf and Woking gave them a chance to show off their Pro Tour level kit and future star George Harper, fresh from his top rides in recent Premier Calendar races, to friends, fans and most importantly the sponsors. Canary Wharf may have been a
shock to the system after local criterium races. But with Matt Higgins getting some good TV time at Canary Wharf, George stepped up to the plate with a storming ride on the testing Woking circuit and was in the thick of the action all night. The majority of the team all have full time jobs and families, so racing at this level is always a challenge. Thankfully the top kit from Felt Bicycles, Castelli, ENVE and Arundel helped close the gap and left everyone wanting more.
LAND SPEED Tom’s landspeed bike with the Enve Smart 45mm wheels.
Tom Donhou of Donhou Bikes is fascinated by the glory days of speed record attempts and the engineering challenge it provides. This has inspired him to set off in pursuit of his own personal record. Tom has built a bike without the aid of computer software, wind tunnel testing and a team of engineers. So when we were contacted here at Saddleback to help him out with a set of wheels for his land speed attempt we were excited to be part of the challenge. Tom purchased a set of Enve Smart 45mm rims to sit his bike on. All the best Tom we know the wheels won’t let you down!
TOP FIVE
Nick Cox our resident Senior Graphic Designer shares the top five bikes he has ever owned.
“The wheels would be spinning at 70, 80, possibly 90 or 100mph. We chose ENVE rims because of their quality and stability.” THOMAS DONHOU
