Many medical facilities will place important information in a larger type size for easy readability. High contrast can also improve readability.

• How long do you expect your badges to last? Years, months or days? We have a badge for each usage.

FASTENERS • We include a choice of two great pins, but there are many other choices. A magnetic back is very popular because it doesn’t damage clothing. If you need be able to hang your badge, a strap clip might be a better choice. All our fasteners are shown on page 41.

ORDERING TIPS FOR PHOTO ID BADGES Consistency is the key to a professional Photo ID Program, make sure:

1. Original order photo file settings are written down; resolution, image size, image orientation, distance from camera, background, etc.

TIPS FOR USING MAGNETS AS VEHICLE SIGNS 1. Magnetic sheet can be distorted (especially at high temperatures) if handled incorrectly. It must be kept flat or rolled with the magnetized side in. 2. Avoid wrinkling! Store magnetic sheeting signs in a roll with an inside diameter of no less than 4 inches with printed surface on the outside. its a good idea to store signs inside a cardboard core or tube for protection. 3. The vehicle surface should be clean, dry and waxed prior to applying sign. 4. Do not apply a magnetic sign to a newly re-painted vehicle. Wait a minimum of 90 days. Also wait 2 days after waxing a vehicle. 5. Make sure the entire surface of the sign is against a steel surface with no existing air pockets or body putty. 6. Remove sign from vehicle at least once a week and wipe dry both the vehicle and the sign. 7. Clean the surface with a mild detergent in warm water. 8. Some metallic (metal flake) paint finishes can be affected by magnetic sheeting. A slight discoloration may occur under the magnet. 9. Always remove the sign by lifting the center of two opposite sides. Never start at the corners. This will avoid bent corners and reduced adhesion.

HALFTONES ON WOOD BADGES We can laser engrave halftones from photos or logos, but note that the effects on wood can be very subtle. The laser engraver interprets black as 100% power. White is 0% power. So naturally anything in between will be laser engraved with a power in between. In samples below you can see the difference in results using the same power or grayscale.

BLEEDS

The best results are achieved by sending us electronic artwork. Any scans should be a minimum of 1200 dpi. See checklist below for specifications. We prefer to receive EPS or TIF electronic images. We will resize artwork to fit desired product.

Artwork that bleeds may require artwork charges. Bleeds are not available on all products, see product for details. Artwork is normally placed .125” from each edge, unless specified with order.

HALFTONES

Paper or electronic proof of product layout is $12.50g. Paper proofs are faxed. Electronic proofs are a PDF document, emailed to you. We proof layouts only, not namelists.

Halftones must be provided electronically. If a black and white stat is the only artwork available, an art charge will apply to the order. We reproduce halftones at 65-85 line. We screen print traditional halftones. Halftones cannot be reproduced with metallic inks. Halftones on wood products will drastically change the appearance of the artwork.

ARTWORK CHARGES Artwork charges may be necessary if additional time is required to bring artwork up to acceptable standards. We bill artwork charges at $100.00g/hour with a minimum charge of 15 minutes. If you are adding photos to any product, please contact customer service regarding detailed digital photo requirements.

COPY & COLOR CHANGES

PROOFS

COLOR MATCHING • SCREEN PRINTING PMS color matches are $40.00g per match. Charges will appear on all reorders. PMS matches are not guaranteed. Note that dramatic changes in appearance of ink color will occur on dark plastics, brass or wood. Example: yellow on blue appears green.

COLOR MATCHING • DIGITAL PRINTING For PMS colors please specify colors from the Pantone® Solid to Process swatch book or the Pantone® Process swatch book. Neon and metallic colors are not available on digital products.

IMPRINTING TYPESTYLES

CONDENSING PERSONALIZATION With the automation of personalization has come some additional issues that need to be addressed when ordering your personalized products. If a name and/or title is too long, what should we do? There are several options: 1. Condense the information 2. Truncate the information 3. Abbreviate parts of the information The choice is yours. We will discuss your options for your particular requirements. Condensing is the most popular option, since it leaves all the information intact. Note the change in readability, however:

Truncating your imprint will cut-off the information at the end of a line. For example if Stephanie Johnson wanted her title Vice President of Sales and Marketing on her badge. We may end cutting off many letters off her title because there isnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t sufficient room on the badge. The last choice is abbreviating the information. For example her title could be shortened to VP of Sales & Mktg.

RELEASE PROGRAM Our Release Program makes it easy for you to order the small quantities of products that will arise after you place your initial order. On your initial order extra product is imprinted, paid for and placed in our online inventory system for later release. When you are ready to order more personalized product, simply go to www.badgerelease.com to enter the names required into the predefined fields and submit your order. There is no shipping charge or invoice when products are released and there is no minimum quantity to be released in each shipment. We will keep your product in stock for 2 years. Normal production time is 5 working days on most products. Production time is started after receipt of order, approved artwork, approved proof, approved credit and order details are clear. Rush service is available only with prior approval of customer service. Production times are in working days (Monday-Friday excluding major holidays). During the warranty period, a product determined by us to be defective will be repaired, refunded, or replaced, at our option, at no charge. This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, transportation, or as a result of a service or modification other than by us. This warranty is in lieu of any other warranty expressed or implied. We cannot be liable for incidental or consequential damages, such as lost revenue, arising from the purchase of our products.

Orders by FAX should be typed in a legible minimum 12 point type face and need not be confirmed by mail. Our fax is on line 24 hours.

REPEAT ORDERS Repeat orders should include our original invoice number and date to ensure exact duplication. Artwork is kept for 2 years, after that time it will be necessary to provide new artwork and new setup charges will apply. PMS match charges will occur with reorders.

SHIPPING & DROP SHIPPING Unless specified, order will be shipped by UPS ground, FedEx Express Saver速 service or First Class Mail. Next Day UPS, Second Day UPS and FedEx overnight service are available when authorized by the customer. A handling charge of $2.50x per package will apply to orders. Release programs are not subject to the handling charge.

LESS THAN MINIMUM CHARGE If ordering less than the minimum catalog quantity, a less than minimum charge may apply to the order.
