Trump offered to meet Iran’s Rouhani Donald Trump has said that he is ready to meet Iran’s leaders without any preconditions and any time they want. The move later rejected by Trump’s own administration as well as one of Rouhani’s advisers.
The US president told reporters at the White House, “I’d meet with anybody. I believe in meetings”. Mr. Trump’s comments come after his and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani hostile warnings earlier this month. Earlier, the US left a deal that restricted Iran’s nuclear activities in return for the lifting of international sanctions. Mr. Trump tweeted that if it threatened the US, Iran will have to “suffer consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before”.
