The Summer Intensive is the biggest annual event of the Conservatory, and we work for months to make it inspiring, challenging, and fun by bringing you the teachers you already know and love, as well as new instructors, classes, and workshops. We strive to provide you opportunities to connect with your fellow members in the classrooms, at the food trucks, or even in the NextGen Performers lounge, where you can charge your phone. As you enjoy the fun and exhilaration one gets from being immersed in a weekend of creativity, our hope is that everything we offer helps you with your successful, everevolving, and thriving career.

Anything that inspires you to be creative and express yourself will also inform your acting. We believe that informed actors are empowered actors. Each lab will be limited to six students, 15 minutes for each member. You will be able to choose from seven instructors. Come prepared for your 15 minutes. Bring an audition, a monologue, your headshot, demo reel and/or marketing questions. The more specific you are, the more you can get out of your time. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How much does the event cost? Absolutely nothing! The Summer Intensive is included in your Conservatory registration fee. Do I need to register for events? Yes! Space is limited. All events require online registration.
How will I know if I’m confirmed? After you log in to the SAG-AFTRA website, go to the Summer Intensive registration page and scroll to the bottom for your personal schedule.
How do I register for Summer Intensive classes? SAG-AFTRA Conservatory members must RSVP online here. There will be no phone or in-person registration available.
Can I just show up and see if there are any no-shows? Please check with the Conservatory office in the Mayer Library Building for any class openings. Otherwise, feel free to go to the classroom and wait in the standby line. Please note that classes will be overbooked to account for no-shows.
Who can I call if I have problems logging in? If you need assistance with your login and password, please call (323) 549-6789.
Is there a limit to how many workshops I can take? No, as long as your classes don’t overlap, feel free to take advantage of as many workshops as you can.

This year we are thrilled to roll out new and robust programming. Our journey to create a safe space for actors led us to establish new guidelines and policies that will provide a pleasant learning experience in a professional environment. It is an exciting time for us as we expand our curriculum to include a new space at 5757 Wilshire Blvd., which will allow us to offer more on-camera classes and events to accommodate our growing membership. In addition, the Conservatory now offers table reads where students work on scripts with Writers Guild of America members. The goal is to encourage performers to network and collaborate with other professionals in the industry.
