ASEAN NCAP – SAFER CARS FOR ASEAN REGION ASEAN NCAP Releases the Quarter III 2014 Results for Four Models/Variants and Sharing Further Development in Vehicle Safety for Southeast Asia Region Kuching, 27 August 2014 – The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) continues its journey in promoting car safety in the transition phase – from its previous pilot phase (divided into three sub-phases) to a more frequent “test-and-publish” activities. The following are the gist of the latest ASEAN NCAP results (Quarter III 2014 August Release):
Tested Car Models/Variants The four cars underwent the latest ASEAN NCAP tests are – Honda City (2014), Honda Jazz (2014), Tata Vista and Perodua Axia. Result plates for each car are available at the end of this release.
Result Summary 1. Tata Vista – 3-Star in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP); 3-Star in Child Occupant Protection (COP). 2. Perodua Axia – 4-Star in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP); 4-Star in Child Occupant Protection (COP). Dual-rating: 1. Honda City (2014) – 5 and 4-Star in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP); variants without ESC and/or both front occupants’ SBR are rated 4-Star AOP. 4-Star in Child Occupant Protection (COP). 2. Honda Jazz (2014) – 5 and 4-Star in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP); variants without ESC and/or both front occupants’ SBR are rated 4-Star AOP. 4-Star in Child Occupant Protection (COP).
