A little note from your president about the meeting:

Hi Bobcats! This is Nadia Razzaq, your Key Club president, and I’m ecstatic to see you all this Tuesday! In this first meeting, you’ll be meeting our outstanding officer board, getting a general overview of how we will be running as a club this year, and hear about the service opportunities that are rapidly approaching! Key Club is more than just any club, it’s a community of people who care about an even larger community. I hope that you’ll choose to stop by and see what we’re about, I promise we won’t disappoint!

Yours in service, Nadia Razzaq

Sage Creek students at the August DCM

At the August Division Council Meeting, Key Clubbers from Division 37 West were joined by Key Clubbers from Division 37 East. Together, we participated in fun activities such as a contest to see who could work together to float a boat best, only using a couple of straws. During our meeting, we recognized the division is gaining money for PTP, and our increase in service hours by all of the clubs contributions.

In August we hosted a beach cleanup at Oceanside Pier! It was a big success, from finding a hotel room key to many cigarette butts, it is evident we made an impact in our community. While walking around Oceanside, we picked up 4 very full bags of trash in total, within a matter of 2 hours. As we picked up trash with some trash picks and classic Home Depot buckets, people enjoying a walk around Oceanside thanked us and started to enjoy the cleaner environment as we continued to pick up trash. With a cleaner environment, we hope less trash will go to the ocean as we contributed a small part to our community, even though the problem still needs to continue to be solved. Trash we found such as plastic confetti, beer container plastic, and mesh bags can be very harmful to the environment. We hope to do more cleanups in the future to continue to help positively impact the environment and hopefully reduce harm towards the environment.
