Founded in 1976, TODD, a specialist in the distribution and maintenance of parts for lorries, now employs 550 people and has a turnover of 100 million euros. Following the acquisition of General Trailers in 2004, Todd completed their service catalogue, more than doubled their customer base and went from 20 to 45 sales representatives. “Until then all we had was a customer file which was only used by the accounting and billing section,” explains Audrey Pinsault, the company’s sales administration manager. “The sales team, for their part, did not have any computerized files.”

Challenge TODD needed to supply its sales team with a suitable solution that would support sales efforts, improve its knowledge of customers and drive business productivity. Solution Sage CRM fulfilled all the criteria defined in TODD’s specifications in terms of features and price. The flexible and configurable solution interfaces with their billing software and Sage CRM’s user-friendliness and intuitive interface simplified its adoption by users.

In 2006, as part of the process of establishing an effective customer relationship strategy, TODD firstly compiled a list of all its customers. “This was in response to the need to provide our sales team with a proper tool. The goal was then to computerize the database to improve our sales teams’ customer knowledge,” adds Audrey Pinsault. “This latter part was done using the Sage CRM solution.

Results TODD is now equipped with a computerized, central and dynamic database with data that is easily accessible to all of the sales team. It is now able to see a complete picture of their customers allowing them to improve customer knowledge and assess potential, as well as develop its marketing and communications operations.

This first stage will optimize customer relationship management and improve responsiveness. At the same time, this solution enables recording of the history of the customer base. Each new customer or prospect contact is updated in the software. For example, we may note and follow any disputes with a customer. Our database is now computerized and dynamic.”

He adds, “Their knowledge of Sage, and Sage’s customer relationship management solutions as well as our IT infrastructure, actually facilitated the integration of Sage CRM with our other management applications. And lastly, Sage CRM’s user-friendliness and intuitive interface simplified its adoption by users.”

TODD intends to use this new customer knowledge to improve their marketing and communications operations. “From now on we plan to continue our partnership with Sage and to rely on Sage CRM’s evolution and adaptation capacities to further optimize our customer relationship strategy,” says Audrey Pinsault.
