Strømkilde •
Bruk kun strømforsyningen som fulgte med produktet. Hvis du bruker en uautorisert strømforsyning vil dette ugyldiggjøre garantien og det kan ugjenkallelig skade produktet.
•
Koble klokkeradioen fra strømnettet under tordenvær.
•
Sjekk alltid at du har slått klokkeradioen helt av, før du endrer eller kobler fra strømforsyningen.
•
Der hvor strømuttaket eller apparatets koblingsledning brukes som frakoblingsenhet, må frakoblingsenheten hele tiden være klar til bruk.
•
Hvis klokkeradioen ikke kommer til å bli brukt på en stund, forsikre deg om at hovedstrømmen er koblet fra.
•
Generelt sett bør batteriladere og strømforsyninger i minst mulig grad være tilkoblet strømnettet om natten eller når du ikke er hjemme. Alle POP-produkter er CEgodkjente og sertifiserte.

Sikkerhetsinformasjon Plassering av klokkeradioen din Det er viktig at du tenker nøye gjennom på forhånd hvor klokkeradioen din skal plasseres og forsikre deg om at det er: •
på en flat og stabil overflate.
•
maksimum 1,4 meter fra en stikkontakt. Vennligst forsikre deg om at ledningen ikke er en snublefare.
•
hvis du bruker projektorfunksjonen, må den være innenfor 1-2 meter fra en vegg eller tak for å kunne vise klokken eller alarmsifrene tydelig.
•
minst 1 meter unna andre elektriske apparater for å unngå forstyrrelser.
•
der du kan strekke antennen helt ut. Aldri plasser klokkeradioen din direkte på en antikk eller polert overflate.
Fuktighet og vann •
Hold den tørr. Unngå eksponering for nedbør, fuktighet og væsker som kan påvirke produktets kretser.
•
Ikke la radioen stå i lave temperaturer der fuktighet kan dannes inne i produktet, noe som kan skade kretskortet.
Ventilasjon •
Ikke blokker eller tildekk spor, hull eller åpninger på produktet ved å plassere radioen på myke møbler som tepper eller senger, da disse er gitt for funksjonalitet og/eller ventilasjon for å sikre trygg bruk av produktet.
Varmekilder og flammer •
Ikke la radioen stå i høye temperaturer, da elektroniske enheter og plastdeler kan deformeres i varmen.
•
Hold den unna sterkt sollys eller varmekilder, som f.eks. radiatorer/ovner.
•
Aldri plasser noen form for stearinlys eller åpen flamme oppå eller nær produktet.

Bli kjent med din POPprojection Forbindelse 1. Koble hovedstrømledningen inn i hovedstrømkontakten bak på klokkeradioen. 2. Koble strømadapteren inn i stikkontakten i veggen. Klokkeradioen vil slå seg på og Velkommen til Digital Radio vil vises på skjermen, før klokkeradioen går inn i Ventemodus.
Førstegangsoppsett 1. Strekk ut radioantennen for å sikre at maksimum signalstyrke er tilgjengelig når du søker etter radiostasjoner. 2. Trykk på Power-knappen oppå klokkeradioen. Klokkeradioen din vil slå seg på og starte et automatisk søk etter DAB+ stasjoner. En fremdriftslinje vil vise progresjonen til søket og antall stasjoner funnet under søket vil også vises. 3. Når søket er ferdig vil klokkeradioen din velge den første tilgjengelige stasjonen og begynne å spille. Stasjonene er listet i numerisk og deretter alfabetisk rekkefølge som standard. Merk: DAB+ stasjonslisten er lagret i minnet, derfor vil ikke stasjonssøket finne sted neste gang du slår klokkeradioen på. 4. Trykk på eller for å bla deg gjennom de tilgjengelige stasjonene i stasjonslisten. Når stasjonen du ønsker å høre på vises, trykk på Select-knappen. Det vil være en kort forsinkelse mens klokkeradioen stiller inn den valgte stasjonen.
Justere volumet •
Vri Volume-hjulet med klokken for å øke volumet.

Klokkeslett og dato Første gang du lytter til DAB-radio vil klokkeslett og dato på produktet bli automatisk synkronisert til at kringkasting av DAB-tjenesten er i 24-timers modus, så det er ikke nødvendig å stille inn klokkeslett og dato manuelt. Hvis du ønsker å stille klokkeslett og dato manuelt, slå på klokkeradioen og følg stegene nedenfor:

Bli kjent med din POPprojection Bruke projektoren Projektorfunksjonen lar deg se klokkeslett eller alarmtid på en vegg eller et tak i nærheten (ca. 1-2 meter).
Projektorlinse
Med korrekt klokkeslett satt: 1. Trykk på den lille strømknappen på projektoren, som er på høyre side av klokkeradioen, for å slå projektoren på. 2. Roter projektoren helt til du tydelig kan se klokkeslettet på en vegg eller et tak i nærheten (ca. 1-2 meter). 3. For å slå projektoren av, trykk på den lille projektoren igjen.

Bli kjent med din POPprojection Merk: Hvis du velger DAB eller FM som alarmkilde, vil ’Sist hørt på’ blinke på skjermen. Den radiostasjonen du hørte på sist i DAB eller FM vil bli brukt til din alarm. Trykk på Select-knappen for å velge. 8. Bruk eller for å bla deg til den frekvensen du ønsker å bruke til alarmen. Du kan velge mellom Daglig, En gang, Helger eller Ukedager. Trykk på Select-knappen for å velge. Merk: Hvis du velger En gang, vil du bli bedt om å sette datoen for alarmen din. 9. Bruk eller for å velge mellom Alarm På eller Av og trykk på Select-knappen for å velge. ’Alarm Lagret’ vil vises. 10. Et klokke/bjelle-symbol vil dukke opp på klokkeradioens Ventemodus-skjerm, sammen med ’1’ eller ’2’ alt ettersom du har stilt alarm 1 eller 2, for å bekrefte at alarmen er stilt. Merk: Husk å sette alarmvolumet til et nivå du vil våkne av, ved hjelp av den roterbare volumkontrollen.
Stoppe alarmen Når alarmen starter, trykk på hvilken som helst knapp bortsett fra Snooze og ’Alarm av’ vil vises. Alternativt kan du trykke på Snooze-knappen (se slumrefunksjonen nedenfor) Merk: Når du trykker på en knapp for å stoppe alarmen, vil alarmsymbolet fortsatt være på skjermen og alarmen vil starte igjen til samme tid neste dag, hvis du ikke satte alarmen til å kun gå av En gang.
Slumre Når alarmen starter kan du trykke på Snooze-knappen. ’Snooze’ vises, fulgt av nedtellingstiden for slumrefunksjonen fra 10 minutter, helt til alarmen starter igjen.
Slå av alarmen Følg stegene for å Stille alarm 1 eller 2 og velg ’Av’ i steg 9.

Bli kjent med din POPprojection Innsovnings/sleep-timer Stille inn innsovnings/sleep-timeren Du kan stille klokkeradioen din til å bytte til Ventemodus automatisk ved hjelp av innsovningstimeren. Du kan velge mellom Sleep av, 15, 30, 45, 60 og 90 minutter. Med klokkeradioen din slått på (ikke i Ventemodus): 1. Trykk på Snooze-knappen. 2. Bruk eller for å bla deg gjennom de tilgjengelige alternativene. Stopp når innsovningstiden du ønsker å bruke vises på skjermen og trykk på Select. 3. Øverst i høyre hjørne på skjermen vil antallet minutter til klokkeradioen går inn i Ventemodus automatisk bli vist, f.eks. S90.
Avbryte innsovnings/sleep-timeren Med klokkeradioen slått på (ikke i Ventemodus): Følg stegene for å stille inn Sleep og velg ’Av’ i steg 2.

Bruk av din POPprojection Bruke DAB-radioen Trådantenne Vennligst forsikre deg om at trådantennen er helt strukket ut og justert før du søker etter DAB-stasjoner (vertikal stilling er anbefalt). Dette vil sikre at maksimal signalstyrke er tilgjengelig når klokkeradioen starter å søke. Å strekke antennen helt ut sikrer også best mulig lydkvalitet.
DAB-modus Sjekk at klokkeradioen er i DAB-modus. Hvis du ikke allerede er i DAB-modus, trykk på Mode-knappen for å komme inn i DAB-modus (sjekk skjermen). Første gang du bruker klokkeradioen eller hvis stasjonslisten er tom, vil klokkeradioen automatisk starte og søke etter DAB-stasjoner. En fremdriftslinje vil vise progresjonen for søket og antallet stasjoner funnet under søket vil også vises. Når søket er ferdig vil klokkeradioen din velge den første tilgjengelige stasjonen og begynne å spille. Stasjoner er listet i numerisk og deretter alfabetisk rekkefølge som standard.
Bytte DAB-stasjon I DAB-modus: 1. Trykk på

Søke etter DAB-stasjoner Med DAB-radio blir flere stasjoner og tjenester regelmessig tilgjengelige, så det er en god idé å utføre en manuell skanning nå og da, for å sørge for at du har den mest oppdaterte stasjonslisten lagret i minnet til klokkeradioen din. Hvis du har flyttet klokkeradioen til et annet sted, for eksempel: hvis du drar på ferie, er det også en god ide å utføre en manuell skanning.

Bruk av din POPprojection I DAB-modus: 1. Trykk og hold Menu/Info-knappen inne for å komme inn i Menyen. 2. <Full scanning> vises. Trykk på Select-knappen 3. Skjermen vil endres til ’Scanner...’ En fremdriftslinje viser fremdriften for skanningen og antall stasjoner funnet under skanningen.
Renske DAB-stasjoner Du kan fjerne DAB-stasjonene i stasjonslisten som ikke kan mottas i ditt område. Disse er oppført med forstavelsen ’?’ I DAB-modus: 1. Trykk og hold Menu/Info-knappen inne for å komme inn i Menyen. 2. Bruk
eller
for å bla til <Renske>. Trykk på Select.
for å bla til ’Ja’. Trykk på Select-knappen for å 3. ’Renske? Ja <Nei>’ vises. Trykk på renske stasjonslisten. Stasjoner med forstavelsen ’?’ vil ikke lenger vises.
Lagre en forvalgt DAB-stasjon Klokkeradioen din kan lagre opp til 10 DAB+ radiostasjoner i sitt forvalgte minne for umiddelbar tilgang til dine favorittstasjoner. Merk: Når du lagrer forvalgte DAB-stasjoner, vil ikke disse overskrive de forvalgte FMstasjonene. 1. Bytt til den DAB-stasjonen du ønsker å lagre som et forvalg. 2. Trykk og hold ’Preset’-knappen inne i ca. 2 sekunder helt til ’Lagre Forvalg <1:(Tom)>’ vises. 3. Bruk
eller
for å bla til den plasseringen du ønsker å lagre forvalget på (1-10).
4. Trykk på Select-knappen. Skjermen vil bekrefte ’Forvalg X Lagret’, der ’X’ er nummeret på forvalget (1-10). Merk: Hvis det allerede finnes en eksisterende DAB-stasjon lagret under en forhåndsinnstilling, vil den bli overskrevet når du lagrer den nye stasjonen.

Bruk av din POPprojection Høre på en forvalgt DAB-stasjon: I DAB-modus: 1. Trykk på Preset-knappen. ’Hent Forvalg <1:>’ vises sammen med navnet eller frekvensen til stasjonen som er lagret der, eller (Tom) hvis ingen stasjon har blitt lagret der tidligere. 2. Bruk
eller
for å bla til den Forvalgte stasjonen du ønsker å høre på (1-10).
3. Trykk på Select-knappen. Klokkeradioen vil bytte til den valgte stasjonen og starte å spille. Merk: Hvis ingen DAB-stasjon har blitt lagret under et forvalg, vil ’Forvalg Tom’ vises, før klokkeradioen vil returnere til den forrige valgte radiostasjonen.
DAB skjerminformasjon Når du lytter til en DAB-stasjon kan du endre informasjonen som vises på den andre linjen på skjermen. Det finnes flere forskjellige typer informasjon som sendes av kringkasteren. •
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS) - Dette er rullerende tekstinformasjon fra kringkasteren. Informasjonen kan være artistnavn, sangtittel, DJ-navn, kontaktinformasjon til radiostasjonen etc.
•
Signalstyrke - En tom vil vises på den andre linjen på skjermen for å indikere minimum signalstyrken for akseptabel lytting. Raden av faste rektangler indikerer den faktiske signalstyrken du mottar. Jo sterkere signal, jo lenger til høyre vil rekken av solide rektangler bli.
•
Programtype (PTY) – for eksempel ’Rock’, ’Pop’, ’Tale’ eller ’Nyheter’
•
Multiplex Navn - viser kringkastingsområdet og en samling av radiostasjoner på denne frekvensen. For eksempel BBC National DAB, Digital 1 Network
•
Kanal og frekvens -for eksempel 12B 225.648 MHz
•
Signalfeil - Dette vises som et tall mellom 0-99. Det vil ikke være tilfredsstillende å høre på en radiostasjon med en signalfeilrate på 30 eller mer. Prøv å justere antennen eller flytte radioen for å forbedre mottaket.
•
Signalinformasjon - datahastigheten på signalet som blir overført.
•
Klokkeslett og dato - Leveres av kringkasteren.

Bruk av din POPprojection 1. Trykk gjentatte ganger på Menu/Info-knappen for å bla deg gjennom de ulike informasjonsalternativene.
Dynamic range control (DRC) I DAB-modus: Det dynamiske området for hvert radioprogram er satt av kringkaster for hver radiostasjon og kan være forskjellig for programtyper, for eksempel pop eller klassisk musikk eller et taleprogram. DRC-signalet overføres parallelt med lydsignalet for hvert program og med klokkeradioen kan du bruke dette kontrollsignalet til å utvide eller komprimere det dynamiske området (forskjellen mellom de høyeste og stille lydene) av det gjengitte lydsignalet. Endring av det dynamiske området kan påvirke lydstyrken og/eller lydkvaliteten til programmet du hører på slik at det passer bedre til dine lyttepreferanser og dine egne personlige lyttebehov. For eksempel i et støyende miljø, hvor stille lyder kan bli overdøvet, vil det å sette kompresjonsnivået til maksimalt ‘øke’ de stille lydene, samtidig som de høyeste lydene holdes på opprinnelig nivå. Det finnes 3 kompresjonsnivåer: •
DRC Av: ingen kompresjon. Dette er standardinnstillingen.

DRC Høy: maksimal kompresjon

Bruk av FM-radioen Trådantenne Vennligst forsikre deg om at trådantennen er helt strukket ut før du prøver å stille inn en FM-stasjon. Dette vil sikre at maksimum signalstyrke er tilgjengelig når klokkeradioen begynner å søke. Å strekke antennen helt ut sikrer også best mulig lydkvalitet.

Bruk av din POPprojection FM-modus Hvis du ikke allerede er i FM-modus, trykk på Mode-knappen til du er i FM-modus (sjekk skjermen). Hvis du lyttet til en FM-stasjon da du slo klokkeradioen av, vil denne stasjonen bli automatisk valgt når du slår klokkeradioen på igjen.

Det finnes to ulike alternativer å velge mellom: Sterke stasjoner Skanningen vil bare stoppe når et sterkt signal mottas som også bør resultere i en bedre lydkvalitet. Trykk og hold Preset-knappen inne i ca. 2 sekunder helt til ’Lagre Forvalg <1:(Tom)>’ vises. 3. Bruk (1-10).

FM skjerminformasjon Når du lytter til en FM-stasjon kan du endre informasjonen som dukker opp på skjermen. Det finnes ulike typer informasjon som er sendt av kringkasteren. •
Radiotekst (RT) - Dette er rullerende tekstinformasjon fra kringkasteren. Informasjonen kan være artistnavn, sangtittel, DJ-navn, kontaktinformasjon til radiostasjonen etc.
•
Programtype (PTY) – for eksempel ’Rock’, ’Pop’, ’Tale’ eller ’Nyheter’
•
Stasjonsnavn eller frekvens - For eksempel BBC R4 eller 93.30MHz
•
Lydmodus – Stereo eller Mono
•
Klokkeslett og dato - levert av kringkasteren.

Aux-in 1. Koble den ene enden av 3.5mm lydkabelen (ikke inkl.) til hodetelefonutgangen eller aux-utgangen på din sekundære enhet. Koble den andre enden til aux-inngangen på baksiden av klokkeradioen. Dette vil gjøre at klokkeradioen din går inn i aux-modus (sjekk skjermen). 2. Trykk på Play-knappen på den sekundære enheten din og start avspillingen gjennom klokkeradioen. 3. For å oppnå optimalt volumnivå, juster volumnivået både på den sekundære enheten og på klokkeradioen. Merk: Når du ikke skal høre mer på den eksterne enheten din, må du plugge ut lydkabelen fra aux-inngangen for å kunne bruke den som DAB+/FM klokkeradio igjen.

En fremdriftslinje vil vise progresjonen til søket og antall stasjoner funnet under søket vil også vises. Når søket er ferdig, vil klokkeradioen velge den første tilgjengelige stasjonen på listen og begynne å spille. Stasjonene er listet i numerisk og deretter alfabetisk rekkefølge som standard.

Do not attempt to open the product. This product does not contain any user serviceable parts. Unauthorised handling of the device may damage it and will void your warranty.

Do not use your Clock Radio near emergency/intensive care medical equipment or during an electrical storm.
Caution To avoid possible hearing damage, do not listen to this Clock Radio at high volume levels for long periods of time. Always keep the volume within reasonable limits.
Power source •
Only use the power supply that came with the product. Using an unauthorised power supply will invalidate your guarantee and may irrecoverably damage the product.
•
Disconnect your Clock Radio from the mains power supply during thunderstorms.
•
Always check that you have completely switched off your Clock Radio, before you change or disconnect the power supply.
•
Where the mains power plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
•
If the Clock Radio will not be used for a long period of time, make sure that the mains power is unplugged.
•
In general, battery chargers and power supplies should not be plugged in at night or when you are not home. All POP products are CE approved and certified.

Safety information Positioning your Clock Radio It is important that you consider carefully in advance where your Clock Radio will be situated and make sure that it is: •
on a flat and stable surface.
•
within 1.4 metres of a power socket. Please ensure that the mains power lead is not a trip hazard.
•
if using the projector function, it needs to be within 1-2 metres of a wall or ceiling to display the clock or alarm digits clearly.
•
at least 1 metre away from other electrical appliances to avoid interference.
•
where you can fully extend the wire aerial.
•
Never place your Clock Radio directly onto antique or polished surfaces.
Moisture and water •
Keep it dry. Avoid exposure to precipitation, humidity and liquids which could all affect the product circuitry.
•
Do not leave it in low temperatures as moisture can form inside the product, which may damage the circuit board.
Ventilation •
Do not block or cover slots, holes or openings on the product by placing on soft furnishings such as carpets, rugs or beds as these are provided for functionality and/or ventilation to ensure safe operation of the product.
Heat sources and flames •
Do not leave it in high temperatures as electronic devices and plastic parts may warp in heat.
•
Keep it away from bright sunlight or heat sources, such as a radiator.
•
Never place any type of candle or naked flame on top of, or near the product.

Getting to know your POPprojection Connection 1. Connect the mains power lead into the socket on the back of the Clock Radio. 2. Plug the power adaptor into the mains power wall socket and switch on. The Clock Radio will switch on, Welcome to Digital Radio will be displayed and then your Clock Radio will go to Standby mode.
Initial set-up 1. Extend the wire radio aerial to ensure the maximum signal strength when you scan for radio stations. 2. Short press the Power button on the top of your Clock Radio. Your Clock Radio will switch on and begin an automatic scan for DAB stations. A progress bar will show the progress of the scan and the number of stations found during the scan will also be displayed. 3. When the scan is complete your Clock Radio will select the first available station and begin to play. Stations are listed in numerical and then alphabetical order by default. Note: The DAB radio station list is stored in the memory and so the next time you switch your Clock Radio on, the station search does not take place. 4. Short press the or button, to scroll through the available stations in the station list. When the station that you would like to listen is displayed, short press the Select button. There will be a short delay whilst your Clock Radio tunes to your selected station.

Time and date The first time you listen to DAB radio, the time and date of your product will be synchronised automatically to that broadcast by the DAB service in 24 hour mode; which is in line with daylight saving, so there is no need to set the time and date manually.

Getting to know your POPprojection Using the projector The projector function allows you to display the clock or alarm time on a nearby wall or ceiling at a range of approximately 1-2 metres.

With the correct time set: 1. Short press the separate small power button on the projector, which is on the right hand side of the Clock Radio, to turn the projector on. 2. Rotate the projector until you can clearly see the clock time projected onto a nearly wall or ceiling, which needs to be within a range of 1-2 metres. 3. To turn the projector off, short press the separate small again.

Note: If you select DAB or FM radio for the alarm source, ‘Last listened’ will flash in the display. The last listened to radio station in DAB or FM, as appropriate, will be used for your alarm. Short press the Select button. 8. Use the or button to scroll to the frequency for the alarm. You can choose from Daily, Once, Weekends or Weekdays. Short press the Select button. Note: If you select Once, you will then be prompted to set the date for your alarm. 9. Use the or button to choose Alarm On or Off and short press the Select button. Alarm Saved is displayed. 10. A bell icon will appear in the standby Clock Radio display, together with a ‘1’ or ‘2’ as appropriate, to confirm that an alarm has been set. Note: Remember to set the alarm volume, using the rotary control, to one that will wake you.
Stop the Alarm When the alarm sounds, short press any button except Snooze, Alarm off will be displayed. Alternatively, you can short press the Snooze/Sleep button (see Snooze function below). Note: When you press a button to stop the alarm, the alarm symbol will remain in the display and the alarm will sound again at the same time the next day, unless it was set for Once only.

Getting to know your POPprojection Snooze When the alarm sounds you can short press the Snooze/Sleep button. Snooze will be displayed, followed by the snooze time countdown from 10 minutes, until the alarm sounds again.
Turn off the Alarm Follow the steps for Setting Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 and select ‘Off’ in step 9.
Sleep timer Setting the sleep timer You can set your Clock Radio to switch to Standby mode automatically using the sleep timer. You can choose from Sleep off, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes. With your Clock Radio switched on (not in Standby mode): 1. Short press the Snooze/Sleep button. 2. Use the or button to scroll through the available options. Stop when the sleep time you would like is displayed and short press the Select button. 3. In the top right of the Clock Radio display the number of minutes until your Clock Radio will switch to Standby mode automatically will be displayed e.g. S90.
Cancel the Sleep timer With your Clock Radio switched on (not in Standby mode): Follow the steps for Sleep timer and select ‘Off’ in step 2.

Using your POPprojection Using the DAB radio Wire radio aerial Please make sure that the wire aerial is fully extended and adjusted before you attempt to tune to a DAB radio station (a vertical position is recommended). This will ensure that the maximum signal strength is available when the Clock Radio begins to scan. Extending the aerial also ensures the best possible sound quality.
DAB radio mode Check that your Clock Radio is in DAB radio mode. If you are not already in DAB mode, short press the Mode button to go to DAB mode (check the display). The first time you use the Clock Radio or if the station list is empty, your Clock Radio will automatically begin to scan for DAB radio stations. A progress bar will show the progress of the scan and the number of stations found during the scan will also be displayed. When the scan is complete your Clock Radio will select the first available station and begin to play. Stations are listed in numerical and then alphabetical order by default.
Changing DAB stations In DAB mode: 1. Short press the

button to scroll through the available stations.
2. When the station that you would like to listen to is displayed, short press the Select button. There will be a short delay whilst your Clock Radio tunes to your selected station.
Scanning for DAB stations With DAB radio additional stations and services regularly become available, so itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s a good idea to carry out a manual scan every now and then to make sure that you have the most up to date station listing stored within the memory of your Clock Radio. If you have moved your Clock Radio to another location, e.g.: if you go on holiday, then itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s also a good idea to carry out a manual scan.

Note: When you store DAB radio station presets, these do not overwrite your FM station presets. 1. Tune the Clock Radio to the DAB radio station that you wish to preset. 2. Long press the Preset button for approximately 2 seconds until Preset Store <1:(Empty)> is displayed. 3. Use the or button to move to the preset location that you would like to store the radio station to (1-10). 4. Short press the Select button. The display will confirm Preset X stored, where ‘X’ is the number of the preset (1-10). Note: If there is already an existing DAB station stored under a preset, it will be overwritten when you store the new station.

Preset Recall <1:> is displayed together with the name or frequency of the station stored there, or (Empty) if no previous station has been stored. 2. Use the or button to move to the Preset location and station that you would like to listen to (1-10). 3. Short press the Select button. The Clock Radio will instantly tune to that station and begin to play. Note: If no DAB station has been stored under the preset button, ‘Preset Empty’ will be displayed, then the Clock Radio will revert to the previously selected radio station.
DAB display information When listening to a DAB station you can change the information that will appear on the display. There are several different types of information that are sent by the broadcaster. •
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS) - this is scrolling text information supplied by the broadcaster. Information could be the name of an artist or music title, DJ’s name, contact details for the radio station etc.
•
Signal Strength - An empty will appear on the display to indicate the minimum signal strength for acceptable listening. The row of solid rectangles indicates the actual signal strength that you are receiving. The stronger the signal, the further to the right the row of solid rectangles will be.
•
Program Type (PTY) - such as ‘Rock’, ‘Pop‘, Talk’ or ‘News’
•
Multiplex Name - displays the broadcasting area and collection of radio stations on this frequency e.g.: BBC National DAB, Digital 1 Network.
•
Channel and Frequency - e.g.: 12B 225.648 MHz
•
Signal error - This is displayed as a number between 0-99. It would not be possible to satisfactorily listen to a radio station with a signal error rate of 30 or above. Try adjusting the aerial or relocating your Clock Radio to improve reception.
•
Signal information - The data rate at which the signal is being transmitted.
•
Time and date - supplied by the broadcaster.

Dynamic range control (DRC) In DAB mode: The dynamic range for each radio programme is set by the broadcaster for each radio station and may be different for the types of programme broadcast, such as pop or classical music or a chat show. The dynamic range control signal is transmitted in parallel with the audio signal for each programme and with your Clock Radio you can use this control signal to expand or compress the dynamic range (the difference between the loudest and quietest sounds) of the reproduced audio signal. Changing the dynamic range can affect the ‘loudness’ and/or ‘quality of sound’ of the programme that you hear so that it will be more suited to your listening conditions and your own personal listening requirements. e.g. in a noisy environment, where quiet sounds might be swamped, setting the compression to maximum will ‘boost’ the quiet sounds, whilst keeping the loudest sounds at their original level. There are 3 levels of compression: •
DRC off - no compression. This is the default setting.
•
DRC low - medium compression.
•
DRC high - maximum compression.

Aux in 1. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied) to the headphone (or auxiliary out) socket of your secondary device. Connect the other end to the Aux in socket on the back of your Clock Radio. This will switch your Clock Radio to Aux in mode (check the display). 2. Press the Play button on your external device to start playback through the Clock Radio. 3. To gain optimal volume levels, adjust the volume level on both the secondary device and on the Clock Radio. Note: After you have finished listening to your external device you must unplug the audio cable from the Aux in socket, to be able to use it as a DAB/FM Clock Radio again. 45
