ABOUT THE PROJECT The ISBT
at
Anand Vihar
is proposed to be redeveloped so as to provide quality service sys-
tem for the commuters and integrate it with the city bus service terminal,
Anand Vihar metro station and Anand Vihar railway station. The total area available is 9.2 hectarres. It has a frontage of about 500m along the main Ghazipur road. Main entry to ISBT is from road no. NH-56. The present ISBT is functional in the name of Vivekanand Inter State Bus Teerminal, Anand Vihar, East Delhi.
AIM AND OBJECTIVE • To
achieve design excellence and to come up with a prototype design for a bus terminal
for future and urban scenario when space will become precious commodity.

create clear segregation of different types of traffic to avoid congestion at peak

CONCEPTS USED 1. Bifurcation •
of
Passenger
and
Terminal
side:
he terminal side and passenger side needed to have a bifurcation so as to avoid over crowding and confusion for the passengers moving by.
•
the merging of both the sides can lead to congestion and traffic jam in the site itself.
2. Movement Efficiecy •
the most preferable movements for terminals are linear or sequential movement as they go along the path.
•
the bus bays are generally along the form of terminal building.
3. Connectivity •
for passengers waiting in the concourse building, there should be a proper visibility towards the bus bays and the activities being done in the building for avoiding any kind of delay to buses.

the concept of visibility can be implemented while selecting the material for building.

the inter connectivity of different modes of transport around, i.e., metro station, railway station.
