Appendix I Groupwork During the course of AR1U090 a lot of work has been conducted by the group of Breda as a whole. This has been done, because it was felt by the group, that with group work, time could be saved. General ‘tracings’ could be done once, instead of four times. Leaving more time to go more into depth with the individual research. In this appendix our common efforts have been sumarised. Appendix I Groupwork: 4 landscape superstructures
Simplifying the map
Exploration of the main structures The diagrams featured on the following spreads, considers a collaboration of group members. These diagrams explore the program, view depth, crossing points and landmarks of the four most crucial structures of Breda. • • • •
The city’s edge The infrastructure for the automobile The infrastructure for the train The water structure
All these structures provide a different perceptions of the urban landscape of Breda. These perceptions are unique since they are only to be experienced by those who use the specific structures. These diagrams are inspired by the work of Calabrese and Houben (2003) in their book ‘Mobility, A Room With A View’.
References Houben, F., & Calabrese, L. (2003). Mobility: A room with a view. Rotterdam: NAi.
