ARCHITECTURE
WHAT IS POP-UP ARCHITECTURE
[...] temporary themselves, pop-up architecture structures can advance a singular purpose and concentrate there impact. Pop-ups can also precipitate economic development and community engagement, sometimes in underserved or undeveloped areas. https://www.curbed.com/2016/3/9/11180920/architecture-history-temporary-banksy

4 CONCLUSION Thesis proposal
THESIS QUESTION How can an ephemeral architectural intervention contribute in its own way to the revitalization of a neighborhood?
THESIS STATEMENT This thesis project investigates the potential of how a pup-up architectural structure might activate spaces to encourage community engagement and development and highlight the important historic value of the Pullman neighborhood.
MY PROPOSED STRATEGIES
1
Series of temporary architecture pop-ups on vacant lots for various functions
2
Temporary/seasonal pop-up shops or gathering spaces in vacant existing buildings
3
Activation of one space where free temporary events or activities can be hosted every season
