Guide to Your Merit Award 2020-21 We are pleased to provide you with this guide, which includes information on the terms and conditions of your award at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. We encourage you to share this information with your family. Terms & Conditions • • • • • • •
The total amount of your scholarship will depend on the number of credits you need to graduate. If you earn any hours that transfer to SAIC through AP, IB or enrollment at any other college, your total award received may be reduced. Because tuition and financial aid are calculated by the credit hour, the scholarship amount is pro-rated per semester based upon the number of credit hours you are enrolled. Merit scholarships may not be used after completing degree requirements for an undergraduate program, or if an extended leave of absence expires that requires re-application for admission to SAIC. Your award will be forfeited if you choose to defer your admission to a future term. The scholarship may not be used for an additional degree or dual degree requirements. Your award is available for up to 126 credit hours (minus any approved transfer credit).
Scholarship Renewal Requirements At the end of each semester, academic completion requirements are reviewed for each merit recipient. As a Merit Scholarship Recipient, you must successfully complete 75% of credit hours each semester. Grades of W (withdrawal) do not count against the 75% completion requirement.
