This information was gathered by conducting a scholarship search through one or more of the online scholarship search sites, as well as information received at SAIC from organizations offering scholarships. It is not limited to organizations through which SAIC students have received funding.

826 VALENCIA COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

Every year 826 Valencia awards multiple $20,000 scholarships to college-bound seniors who have participated in 826 Valencia programs. Scholarship applications open in February.

AFFINITY PLUS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP

Each year, Affinity Plus awards several $4,000 scholarships for freshman, upperclassmen, and non-traditional students. Applicant must be a primary member in good standing of Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, or meet membership eligibility requirements and join the credit union prior to submitting a scholarship application.

ARTHUR GRIFFIN FOUNDATION STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The AGF was established by photographer Arthur Griffin to provide scholarships for young visual artists and enhance the beauty of the Winchester, MA community. The Student Scholarship Award of $5,000 is given each year to an exemplary current Winchester student seeking to further their education or pursue a career in visual arts such as photography, graphic design, photojournalism, or visual digital media.

CTSF SCHOLARSHIP

BAGSF foundation awards up to $2,000 scholarships to low-income, underserved and underrepresented students who are pursuing a college education. AB540 recipients, undocumented, and first-generation students are encouraged to apply. Applicants should reside in the counties of San Francisco, Alameda, San Mateo and Santa Clara. The scholarship contest is open to high school seniors expected to graduate this academic year, high school graduates, GED recipients, and students attending college.

LADER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP PROGAM

The Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students who are blind or visually impaired, and to Chicago Lighthouse employees, especially those who are disabled and/or Veterans. Scholarships are submission-based and awarded to outstanding students within the visually impaired or blind population across the United States who demonstrate financial need, are pursuing higher education, and are able to attend the Chicago Lighthouse Scholarship Ceremony.

CHICAGO

URBAN LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIPS

The Chicago Urban League is at the forefront of creating opportunities for African American students to empower themselves and their communities. The Chicago Urban League annually awards scholarships to provide financial assistance for college students through a competitive application process. Any person pursuing an undergraduate degree at an institution of higher learning is eligible to apply. Scholarship awards range from $1,000-$10,000, depending on availability of funds.

THE

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF THE FOX RIVER VALLEY

This scholarship program consists of separate scholarship funds created by individual donors who establish specific criteria for the administration of their scholarships. Applicants must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full-time basis, maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher and maintain a permanent address located within the Community Foundation Scholarship Program service area (a few exceptions apply).

THE CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS FOUNDATION SPOUSES VISUAL ARTS SCHOLARSHIP

The CBCF is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing the global black community through leadership, cultivation, community education and civic engagement that awards 10 applicants $5,000 awards via the Spouses Visual Arts Scholarship. In order to be eligible, applicants must be pursuing an education in the visual arts at an accredited college or university. Preference is given to African-American students residing in CBC member districts.

CREATE-A-GREETING-CARD SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

Hosted annually by the Gallery Collection, the Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship is an opportunity for a student to create an original greeting card design and win $10,000 plus $1,000 for their school. The contest is open to all high school, college, and university students enrolled in a degree-granting program for the latter half of the year who are legal residents of the U.S. and its provinces (as well as international students with student visas).

DAVIS-PUTTER SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund aids people active in movements for social and economic justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to students who are able to do academic work at the college or university level or are enrolled in a trade or technical program and who are active in the progressive movement. The maximum grant available is $15,000 per year.

EDUCATION FIRST SCHOLARSHIP

Education First offers this scholarship program to select participating high schools in Austin, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle. Eligible seniors compete for one $5,000 and one $2,000 college scholarship in each of our chapter cities.

THE ELIE WIESEL PRIZE IN ETHICS ESSAY CONTEST

This contest encourages undergraduate full- time juniors or seniors to engage and grapple with an issue in ethics that they feel strongly about. The contest is open to registered undergraduate full-time juniors or seniors at accredited four-year colleges or universities in the United States. Prizes range from $500 to $5,000 dollars.

THE EOD WARRIOR FOUNDATION

The EOD Warrior Foundation awards education scholarships to EOD family members, with priority given to family members of fallen, wounded EOD warriors, Purple Heart recipients and Gold Star children and spouses. The scholarships are between $1,000-$4,000 and intended to assist with tuition, books and fees at two and four-year colleges. Scholarships are competitively awarded based on merit in categories that include academic standing, community involvement, letters of recommendation, and essays.

EQUALITY SCHOLARSHIP

For graduating high school seniors and recent high school graduates, the eQuality Scholarships are meant to honor students who demonstrate dedicated service to the LGBTQ community. Applicants may be of all sexual orientations and gender identities and must be residents of northern or central California; have completed or expect to complete high school or equivalent; plan to attend or begin attending an accredited post-secondary institution for the first time. Undocumented students welcome to apply. The foundation usually awards 10–15 scholarships to high school seniors and 1 or more scholarships to a community college transfer student to assist with educational expenses.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY’S COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

This foundation provides financial assistance for senior students and current undergraduate students who have graduated from or have a connection to one of the following Greater Bridgeport area cities or towns: Bridgepoint, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or West Port, either as a native resident, high school graduate or current resident.

THE FAMILIES OF FREEDOM SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The purpose of this fund is to provide assistance for postsecondary study to financially needy dependents (children, spouses, domestic partners etc.) of those killed or permanently disabled as a result of the 9/11 attacks and rescue efforts. Award amounts are calculated on a case-by-case basis based on financial need.

FOSTER CARE TO SUCCESS (FC2S) SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIPS

FC2s is an organization dedicated to providing guidance, support, and funding to college-bound youth aging out of foster care. Students must have been in foster care for the 12 consecutive months leading up to and including their 18th birthday or have been adopted or placed in legal guardianship from foster care after their 16th birthday or must have been orphaned for the last one year at the time of their 18th birthday.

They also must be accepted to accredited, Pelleligible college and be under the age of 25 on March 31. Students must have been in foster care or orphaned while living in the United States. U.S. citizenship is not required. Awards range from $2,500 - $5,000 based on a combination of need and merit per academic year.

FRAME MY FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP

Frame My Future Scholarships are given to legal U.S. residents attending a U.S. college or university full-time for the upcoming academic year. To apply, students submit an original and creative digital piece communicating what they hope to achieve in their personal and professional lives after college; submissions are evaluated by Church Hill Classics Judges and public voting. Grand Prize winners will receive a scholarship of $5,000, 2nd place $1,000 and 3rd place $500.

GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program, funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide an opportunity for outstanding minority students with significant financial need to reach their highest potential by:

Reducing financial barriers for African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American and Hispanic American students with high academic and leadership promise who have significant financial need.

Increasing the representation of these target groups in the disciplines of computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health and the sciences, where these groups are severely underrepresented.

GOOD TIDINGS FOUNDATION COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP

This $10,000 scholarship is presented to 10 graduating high school seniors in need who have dedicated themselves to extraordinary community service projects and also demonstrate financial need. GOOGLE- ENTER A DOODLE SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

The Doodle for Google Competition is designed to encourage eligible U.S. school students to use their creativity to create their own interpretation of the Google logo. Students must be US residents and enrolled in grades K-12. The national winner will receive a $30,000 scholarship, national finalists receive a $5,000 scholarship.

THE HEMOPHILIA FEDERATION OF AMERICA EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

The HFA is a nonprofit dedicated to addressing the evolving needs of the bleeding disorders community. Several scholarships are listed for those with bleeding disorders, or a caregiver or family member of someone affected by a bleeding disorder. Scholarships range from $500 -$4,000 to promising students within that community who are also seeking a post-secondary education from a college, university, or trade school.

THE HISPANIC DEVELOPMENT FUND SCHOLARSHIPS

The HDF Scholarship awards college scholarships to Hispanic high school and college students from the Kansas City metro area to provide better educational and economic opportunity for Hispanic people. In order to qualify, Hispanic students living in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area must have attended a Greater Kansas City metropolitan area high school for the last three years prior to graduation, exhibit proven academic merit, financial need, and community involvement and also be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students.

HISPANIC EDUCATION ENDOWMENT FUND

HEEF Scholarships are based on a combination of low-income family background, academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular activities, community volunteer work, church service, or employment. HEEF serves US Citizens, Permanent Residents and Dream Act/ AB 540 students who live in Orange County, California. HEEF offers competitive academic scholarships for OC high school and community college transfers who qualify for need based financial aid and who enroll at a 4-year college or university. Individual awards range from $1,500 –$5,000. Dream Act/AB540 applicants are welcome to apply.

THE HISPANIC LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

In keeping with their mission to improve the quality of life for Hispanic and Latino people through promoting community inclusion, education, health and multicultural understanding, the Hispanic League has established this program to provide scholarships for deserving students. Eligible applicants must: be high school seniors, high school graduates (including GED) who have been accepted into an accredited institution of higher education in the U.S.; be past or present Forsyth County, NC, English Language Learner students; be of Hispanic/Latino origin; be in good academic standing, and fulfill additional criteria listed at the website below. HUMANE EDUCATION NETWORK A VOICE FOR ANIMALS CONTEST

The contest is open to all high school students under the age of 18. Entrants in the 16-18 year old essay section are invited to write an essay that addresses either the mistreatment of one animal species or one cause of animal suffering; or the preservation of one endangered species, occurring anywhere in the world, and potential solutions to alleviate animal suffering; or that addresses the impact of climate change on the animal population and discusses how one animal species has been affected by climate change and presents ideas to raise awareness of this species and what can be done to protect it. Students may choose to write an essay, submit a video essay or an essay with photographs. Prizes range from $200–$500.

ILLINOIS DREAM FUND SCHOLARSHIP

The Illinois Dream Fund Scholarship seeks to create access to financial resources to further the growth and development for the immigrant leaders of tomorrow. The Illinois Dream Fund provides scholarships to undocumented students, who are incoming freshmen or current undergraduates who possess at least a 2.5 GPA (on a 4 point scale). Applicants must be eligible under the Illinois Dream Act.

INLAKS SHIVDASANI FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation identifies exceptionally talented young Indian students and provides financial support for them to develop their special skills and talents. Scholarship applicants must be Indian citizens who are residents in India at the time of application with admission to a top American, European or UK institution who are under 30 years of age on the first of July in the year of application.

COOKE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation’s best four-year colleges and universities. Selected from a nationwide pool of applicants, up to 40 students will become Cooke Scholars and have access to funding for up to four years for undergraduate studies. Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses — including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships the student may receive.

JVS CHICAGO SCHOLARSHIP

The JVS Scholarship is awarded by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago to eligible Jewish college and graduate students. Awards range up to $4,000 and are potentially renewable. Students must be full-time (either entering their junior/senior year of an accredited bachelor’s or graduate degree program), legally domiciled in the metropolitan Chicago area, and demonstrate financial need as well as promise for significant contributions in their chosen careers.

THE KENNEDY-KING MEMORIAL COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

Each spring, the Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship Fund awards two-year scholarships of $6,000 per year to students who transfer in the fall or spring following the award from Contra Costa County community colleges to junior standing in four-year accredited institutions. To qualify, students must belong to a minority group under-represented in the California College and University system, principally those that identify as socially, economically, or educationally disadvantaged; be enrolled for the fall semester prior to the award at Diablo Valley, Contra Costa, or Los Medanos Colleges; be eligible to transfer to a four-year institution with junior standing for the next fall term; and provide evidence of financial need.

LIVE MÁS SCHOLARSHIP

The LIVE MÁS Scholarship is for the innovators, creators and dreamers who want to share their passion and receive support to pursue this passion through a higher educational outlet. This is not need or obstacle based; it is a passion based scholarship program. You must be a legal resident of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, at least 16 years of age and no older than 24 years of age, located in the United States or D.C. and on track to apply for or currently enrolled in an accredited post-high school/postsecondary educational program located in the United States or D.C. The Taco Bell Foundation will award $10 million in Live Más Scholarships to new applicants.

THE NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

National Merit Scholarships are given by the National Merit Organization to recognize and honor academically talented students of the United States. Students must take the PSAT/ NMSQU in high school, no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12; be enrolled in a high school and planning to enroll full-time in college no later than the fall following the completion of high school; and be citizens of the United States. Scholarship amounts can be up to $2,500.

OAKLAND PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP

The Oakland Promise Scholarship, offered by the East Bay College Fund, provides up to $2,000 to $4,000 a year four-year scholarships, mentoring, on-going college counseling, and life skills training to East Bay (primarily Oakland) public high school students from low income families and communities with historically low college attendance rates.

OVERSEAS PRESS CLUB FOUNDATION

The Overseas Press Club Foundation offers 16 scholarships or fellowships to undergraduate and graduate students studying at American colleges and universities (or Americans studying abroad) who aspire to become foreign correspondents. Students win either a $3,000 grant or or a $4,000 fellowship to be used to fund time in a foreign bureau.

PHI DELTA KAPPA PROSPECTIVE EDUCATOR SCHOLARSHIP

The PDK Educational Foundation awards more than 30 scholarships each year to prospective educators who have a connection to PDK such as a family member, teacher, or Future Educators Association membership. Awards range from $500 to $4,000. Eligible individuals are high school seniors intending to major in education with a connection to PDK or undergraduate members of FEA or a PDK chapter enrolled in a college education program.

THE PRINCETON PRIZE IN RACE RELATIONS

Princeton University annually sponsors this award in order to encourage young people who have had a significant positive effect on race relations in their schools or communities through their volunteer efforts. Prize recipients recieve a cash prize of $1,000 and an all-expenses-paid weekend to a national symposium on race at Princeton University. Applicants must be enrolled in grades 9–12.

POINT FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Point Foundation, established in 2001 to nurture the next generation of LGBTQ leaders, awards scholarships to help fill gaps and provide funds not provided by other scholarships, grants, loans, etc.. Applicants must be LGBTQ students enrolled full time at an accredited degree-granting program based in the United States for the upcoming academic year. Point Foundation considers many factors when assessing scholarship applicants, including academic performance, leadership skills, financial need, personal goals and the applicant’s involvement in the LGBTQ community. The Point foundation also offers scholarships for the BIPOC community.

MULTICULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Public Relations Student Society of America annually assists and recognizes young scholars for outstanding academic achievement and commitment to the practice of public relations. Two scholarships of $1,500 are awarded every year to communications students. Recipients should be members of the BIPOC community and be registered as a full-time, undergraduate student at an accredited four-year college or university. Applicants should be at least at junior status, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

QUE LLUEVA CAFÉ SCHOLARSHIP

CORE — the Chicano Organizing & Research in Education organization — provides this scholarship with the intent of providing a direct response to the unfair immigration system that continues to deprive aspiring new scholars from continuing their education in the only country they have ever known, the U.S. Applicants must: be undocumented students who are graduating high school or have taken the GRE who will enroll for the first time in an accredited institution in the U.S. or Puerto Rico; and demonstrate financial hardship, extra-curricular involvement, and academic promise.

RAY GREENLY SCHOLARSHIP

The Ray Greenly Scholarship provides financial support to students pursuing a degree in fields most relevant to digital retail such as engineering, computer science, marketing, business, e-commerce and economics. This $25,000 award is given by the National Retail Federation and awards students across the country who have the creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and forwardthinking to create new ways to connect retail customers to brands and products. THE WENTCHER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Wentcher Foundation identifies students nearing graduation from Chicago Public Schools (CPS) who exemplify academic excellence, high character, and demonstrate financial need. WU Scholars are students from across the globe, who want to build a better world and who share the values of perseverance, aspiration, and are community-minded. 1ST-ART-GALLERY.COM ANNUAL ART AND DESIGN SCHOLARSHIP

1st Art Gallery wants to enable Art and Liberal Arts students (all disciplines) to further their education with a $1,000 annual scholarship. Art students need to submit a piece of art that makes them proud. This can be any type of art submission including (but not limited to) a painting, photograph, statue, song, animation, video, film, illustration, story, poem or any other type of art. Liberal Arts students should apply with a recent sample of their writing, on any subject, limited to 2000 words. JACKIE ROBINSON FONDATION SCHOLARSHIPS–FEBRUARY 1

$24,000 given over four years to low-income minority students. High school seniors with SAT 900 or above OR 21 ACT or above.

INDIAN HEALTH SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP–FEBRUARY 28TH

Full tuition, fees, books, and related expenses for students majoring in health professions with a 2.0 or above, an intention to serve in Indian Country.

SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS

From the Society’s endowment, generous contributions from private and corporate donors, and proceeds from an annual auction of member-donated artworks, scholarship awards are granted to about 25 students whose work is deemed the best of the best.
