Sailaway VII is a stunning 25m sailing catamaran, ideal for sailing to the Outer Barrier Reef. This is the most sustainable and comfortable way to visit the reef. Sail along the coastline with views of the Daintree Rainforest, past Snapper Island before heading to the outer reef.

Sailaway is the only operator from Port Douglas who has daily access to the spectacular Mackay Coral Cay. We have exclusive use of our reef sites which are perfect for snorkelling. There are vast areas of coral gardens to explore at your own pace. Being shallow and protected, you see beautiful corals, giant clams, turtles and fish life, up close. Ideal for taking underwater photos or watching the marine life in their natural habitat.

Sailaway is participating in the Coral Nurture Program. This is a new approach for the Great Barrier Reef that is initiated by a partnership between tourism and science. A core objective of this program is to introduce coral planting into localised stewardship and adaptation. This is to help ensure sustainable reef ecotourism and promote education on the major threats to coral reefs and possible solutions.This involves out-planting corals in order to boost live coral cover at reefs that have experienced a fall in cover and also helps ensure reef sites with existing high coral cover stay healthy.

This is an adventure tour suitable for travellers with good mobility. To participate in snorkelling you must be confident in the water with good swimming ability, as snorkelling can be a strenuous activity.
