Accountancy Accounting is often called the ‘language of business’ because it deals with interpreting and communicating information about a company’s operations and finances. The demand for accountants is growing, especially for women, and job opportunities are better than ever. The Accountancy major prepares students for the CPA exam and careers in auditing, tax accounting, cost accounting or managerial accounting. But a degree in accountancy also can prepare you for careers in government agencies or corporations or to start your own business. Whether you want to be a partner in an accounting firm, a CPA, or work in corporate finance or at a nonprofit, a degree in accountancy can be the key to success.

Minor Business Law Saint Peter’s minor in Business Law is a great addition to the Accountancy major. Business Law adds value to your career—no matter which industry you work in. Courses in this minor provide a strong foundation in legal concepts, vocabulary, and pertinent laws and regulations in business settings. Its focus is to host open dialogue in different areas of business and transactional law, allow students to network and to educate students in specialized issues of business law.

Studying the World More than 20% of Saint Peter’s students choose to take part in credit bearing travel courses in India, China, Cuba, and many other areas of the world. For many students, this is an opportunity to expand their horizons beyond their own experiences. For all students, study abroad trips help shape awareness of the world in which we live.
