Health Sciences Make your mark on the future of the health sciences. The health science major is designed for students who want to make a difference in local and global communities by studying and researching issues related to health care. Throughout the health science curriculum, you’ll develop the knowledge and skills needed to address complex issues that affect today’s dynamic healthcare systems and to improve overall health outcomes. Start with a solid foundation in health sciences and then apply your knowledge about health care to healthcare policy, ethics, leadership, and disease prevention. The program takes an interdisciplinary approach meaning, you get to see healthcare issues through multiple points of view, like behavioral, environmental, and socioeconomic perspectives. This approach prepares you for a variety of careers in the healthcare field since you will be able to understand, evaluate, and respond to new and evolving healthcare trends in a wide range of settings like hospitals, nursing homes, pharmaceutical companies, or non-profit organizations. Prepare yourself to become the type of leader that the future of health sciences needs, working collaboratively and ethically to care for the whole person, cura personalis, for and with the well-being of others. General Studies in Health Sciences The health science major is designed for students with eclectic academic interests, invested in the overall health and well-being of the world around them. General studies in health sciences incorporates biology, psychology, and health promotion, which prepares students for the National Health Science Certificate examination. Radiography Track The Radiography track is for students who want to study imaging techniques of the human body for diagnostic purposes. Through our partnership with Englewood Hospital School of Radiography, health science students can prepare for their certification in Radiography while earning their Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences.
