AlumniConnect/College and Career Connection

On November 9, the Saint Viator and Sacred Heart of Mary Alumni Association will launch AlumniConnect, a new digital platform that will allow alumni to connect with one another and with the school.

“In recent surveys, alumni have expressed an interest in ways to help them stay connected to one another and find professional networking opportunities,” said Alumni Relations Manager Krystal Harris ‘15. “We’ve heard alumni and have responded with AlumniConnect.”

The new tool will allow alumni to post resumes and jobs, find and network with other alumni, form social or professional communities, find or become a mentor, and even hire other Saint Viator and Sacred Heart of Mary alumni.

The launch of the Loyal Hearts Business Forum drew great interest from alumni and produced great professional networking opportunities. Harris believes that AlumniConnect will expand on that start. “While our Business Forum meetings are a great opportunity to periodically meet people faceto-face, AlumniConnect will allow real-time connections and allow alumni across the country to participate.” In fact, AlumniConnect will have a map that shows where alumni are located across the globe so if someone is looking for work in another state, they can find alumni in that region to reach out to.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on employment opportunities for not only young people but those well into their careers as well,” said Tom Ramsden, Vice President of Development for Saint Viator. “This is a time that calls for bold action in many ways and we think that a tool like AlumniConnect will be a big step forward in helping alumni.”

Starting on November 9, alumni of both Saint Viator and Sacred Heart of Mary high schools can register for AlumniConnect at alumniconnect.saintviator.com.

Share Your Experience with New College & Career Connection

Saint Viator’s new College & Career Connection serves as a resource for current students to learn more about prospective colleges from alumni who attended that school.

In this new program, alumni can register online, noting where they received their degree, both undergraduate and graduate or professional, and those entries are stored in a database that can be accessed by Saint Viator College Counselor Amy Herbert. If a current student would like to know more about a school they are considering, Herbert can provide them with the contact information of one or more alumni who attended that school.

“It’s a great way for students to learn more about a school than they might discover on a traditional campus visit,” Herbert said. “It should help answer questions families have about the environment not only on a campus, but perhaps in a particular area of study.”
