How to make white background in Photoshop Very often after taking photo we think about erasing the background and make it white in order to make it separate from the original background. If you know the procedure of removing the original background in Photoshop, then you can become stress free about disturbing background. In this post, I am going to reveal the procedure of removing the background from a photo. It is an effective way that is unknown to most people. Basically, there are numerous ways to remove background from a photo. If the object has sharp and soft edges it becomes really tough to select the object. That’s why I am going to introduce you to this effective way. So, you can get rid of this irritating process. Let’s get started. We are going to remove the background using the color range feature.

Permit me to show you the procedure with this bird. Click here to create a new layer so that you have the option to go back anytime.

Then open this option from the top:

After clicking on color range you will find a new window like that-

The arrow is showing the fizziness. By changing its value increase and decrease you will be able to change the Grayscale view of the picture. Click on the background to select it.

After the first click on the background you will be able to multi select. Then make the background pure white by clicking on the background.

Decrease the fuzziness to make the object dark and increase the value to make the object light. Now, the selection is pretty good here.

Then hit ok. It seems some of the part of the object is included into the selection. We will fix it later.

Go to new fill layer and pick solid color from the option.

Then adjustment layer will be visible.

Indicate the color that you want to set as background. Then hit ok. Then click on the mask thumbnail along with pressing the ALT. Then it will provide a black and white view. Zoom in the bird and see there are white portion.

Pick a soft brush and make those parts black.

Now it’s looking pretty good. Press the mask thumbnail once again along with ALT to bring it back to normal view.

Have a look at these portions marked yellow. It looks like some footprint of the previous background is still visible. But I am looking for a fully fresh result. Go to the black and white mode once again by pressing ALT and the mask thumbnail. Zoom into the section where you are not happy with the result.

Have a look in these soft black marks around the boundary line of the object. Take a soft brush and reduce the size of the brush and erase those soft marks carefully.

Now it’s looking pretty good for me and I think we are ready to see back to original form of the image. I guess now you know what to do for this operation. Simply Press ALT and Mask thumbnail to bring it to normal view.

That seems ok. Wasn’t it a great procedure? Hope you have enjoyed and I it was helpful for you. Stay connected with Clipping USA to know more about these types of tutorial and background removal service.
