The Beginner’s Guide for Buying Home Interior Sculptures If there is one aspect of a home where you can unleash your creative juices, that’s the interior of your house. There are countless ways to decorate your home apart from the usual drapes and centrepieces and paintings. Introduce sculptures into your rooms and add character and style that would otherwise be difficult to achieve with a painting or wallpaper. If you are a novice to the sculpted world of moulds, get help from a designer on how to place a piece of art in your house. The Right Sculpture Before you proceed with decorating your home with statues, decide what you love. Finding the right tone and art piece of your taste is very important and can affect the mood in your house. You shouldn’t feel bored with seeing the same sculpture every day and the work should keep you in high spirits. So when getting a sculpture, decide what type you want to get and what effect it should have. Additionally, the sculpture should also complement the décor and style of your house. Simple and minimalistic sculptures would add to the beauty of contemporary and modern homes while a traditional house can make do with a stylised and prominent display. There are many different types of sculptures available, so buy one that suit your needs and the place where you are going to install one. There are garden sculptures that add character and life to the greenery and you can opt for gothic styles or classic styles or water sculptures for decoration. Indoor sculptures, nowadays, come in a variety of styles that incorporate a bit of function to the aesthetic appeal. Wall mirrors, candleholders, decorative clocks etc. are some modern pieces that can be used to style your room. Environment-friendly sculptures and small pieces of art also available; usually called green sculptures, these are made from recycled wastes.

The Right Place If you have in mind to install a few art pieces, then it would be a good idea to construct your house accordingly; leave the right amount of space and area for placing the sculptures. But it doesn’t matter if you hadn’t left exclusive space as you can spread the sculpture around to get a more classic feel. Placement of sculpture is mostly based on where you want them. But if you are at a loss as to where to install indoor pieces, general areas include the dining room, bedrooms and living rooms. Sculptures in the living room and dining room should be welcoming and warm in nature so that your guests don’t feel intimidated by the style. Also, they would reflect your personality and profession, so choose pieces of art the go down well with your character. Have smaller pieces of art that have detailed works on them and place them on cabinets or coffee tables. It would increase your guests’ curiosity and will have a sense of excitement. When placing a bigger sculpture, have a pedestal or stand dedicated for the piece. The stand shouldn’t have any engravings or markings and should project the art piece in the room. Additionally, having the right background colour would make a world of difference. Depending on the sculpture, whether light coloured or dark, you can have the background tone modified to give the art a proper presence. Moreover, you can retain the original colour or paint the sculptures to give a different texture that would flow well with the room.
