Capture the Flag

September 1 | 1:00 PM | Complimentary | Grand Lawn Enjoy this competitive and traditional team-building sport, where two or more teams each have a flag and the objective is to capture the other team’s flag, located at the team’s “base,” and bring it back safely to their own base.

Family Scavenger Hunt

September 2 | 10:00 AM | $30 per team Compete with your family as a team to score as many points as possible through a special Salamander Scavenger Hunt app. You will have two hours to answer questions located throughout the resort and in the town of Middleburg. Prizes awarded to the team with the most points at the end. One smartphone per team is required. Teams can be 2–8 guests.

Family Pool Party

September 2 | 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM Complimentary | Resort Pool Enjoy the last pool weekend of the summer! Listen to music by DJ Nico while you relax in the pool and soak up the last bit of summer. Resort guests only.

September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 | 12:00 PM $35 per guest | 21+ | Fitness Center Join a recreation team member for a 1.5-mile hike on our property to Lost Barrel Brewing! Once we reach our destination, enjoy a flight of Lost Barrel Brewing beer. Call the resort and we will send you a Resort Car to pick you up after your experience.

Wine & Cider Bike Tour

September 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27 | 11:30 AM $125 per guest | Fitness Center Enjoy a scenic bike ride with one of our guides to Boxwood Winery for a wine tasting, followed by a stop at Mt. Defiance Cidery for a cider tasting. Overall distance is approximately 4 miles and the experience is 1.5 hours. Participants must be 21 or older with a valid photo ID for the duration of the tour. Upgrade to an E-bike for an additional $25 per guest.

Part classroom, part hands-on field experience; learn the proper foraging techniques and different recipes to create with your findings. Sample oils, vinegars, sauces, ferments, and spices, take home your bounty, and use what you learned to create delicious recipes at home. Ages 8+

September 16 This dip may be “extra” but we will teach you how to create the perfect guacamole for your next event. Learn how to properly handle avocados for traditional guacamole and a few fun variations. After the demonstration, take home a handcrafted whisk so you can recreate the guacamole recipes at home.

Authentic Quesadillas and their Variations

September 23 Chef de Cuisine Cesar Mir will teach you how to create the authentic quesadillas that he grew up eating during his childhood in Mexico City. Learn the history of the quesadilla and a few of his favorite recipes and bring home a special gift to remember your experience.

Fall Donuts & Coffee

September 30 Nothing is better than a freshly made donut paired with your favorite cup of coffee. Learn from Pastry Chef Mollie Turner how to create delightfully fluffy yeast donuts with tasty, hand-dipped, fall-inspired frostings and toppings. This demonstration will include a hands-on portion to dip and decorate your own trio of freshly made donuts to enjoy with a specialty coffee drink of your choosing. After the class, depart with printed recipes so you can create these sweet treats at home.


September 14 | 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM | $50 per guest Cooking Studio Join us once a month as our sommelier, Catherine Watkins, walks us through the wines of the world. This casual and interactive wine tasting event will help you hone your wine knowledge and diversify your palate. Pairings will include five wines and petite appetizers, plus education on the wines and the region. At the end of the tasting experience, guests will have the opportunity to purchase their favorite bottles to take home at a 20% discount. Dine in Harrimans following your Uncorked tasting and receive 20% off your bill.

October 26, 27, 28 & 29 | 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM Join us for a spook-tacular night of fun and fright! The 0.6mile trail features 10 actor scenes from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm for children ages 4 through 12 years old. Our fright-free trail is at 6:30 pm for children who wish to walk the trail without actors in the scenes. Last entry to the trail is 8:30 pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, including hot dogs, barbeque, mac & cheese, s’mores kits, caramel apples and more. Tickets purchased through Eventbrite.
