In September 2022, Salamander Collection brought its welcoming and diverse style of luxury hospitality to the heart of the nationʼs capital at Salamander Washington DC. Into Spring 2024, a remarkable transformation will take place, and guests will enjoy elegantly redesigned suites, exquisite cuisine and state-of-the-art amenities. Lobby & Lounge | Winter 2024 Guests will be welcomed into our warm and inviting Lobby, a comfortable living room space that seamlessly transitions into The Lounge. With an expansive wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, The Lounge offers natural light and tranquil views ​of the picturesque Lounge Patio, Grand Lawn, and nearby marina of the Southwest waterfront.

Luxury and Comfort Redefined Stylish Suites | Spring 2024 Experience the height of luxury as Salamander Washington DC elevates its forty-five one-bedroom suites and six signature suites, including the awe-inspiring Presidential Suite, offering unrivaled views of the nation's capital. ​

Reimagined by renowned design company, Thomas Pheasant STUDIO, every suite will undergo a complete refurbishment, introducing brighter furnishings that showcase natural light and modern touches, for a brand-new aesthetic catered to discerning travelers.

Monument Club | Spring 2024 The elegant and fresh remodeling of Salamander Washington DC’s Club Lounge will create an elevated and personalized experience for corporate groups and hotel guests alike. This redesign by Thomas Pheasant STUDIO will maximize the sweeping views of the two-story space, featuring all new furniture, fixtures, and wall coverings.

Salamander Spa | Spring 2024 The signature spa will expand to two stories, offering Lobby-level access, six additional treatment rooms, retail space and enhanced amenities.

The new Salamander Spa designed by MONOGRAM will welcome guests with a relaxing reception area, enhanced with light and rejuvenating finishes.

Reinvigorating the Culinary Scene Salamander Washington DC x Chef Kwame Onwuachi | Spring 2024 We are elated to announce that Chef Kwame Onwuachi is returning to the nation’s capital to open a restaurant at Salamander Washington DC. In partnership with Sheila Johnson’s Salamander Collection, the acclaimed chef will create a bold new dining destination located along the capital’s Southwest waterfront. The fresh and imaginative new concept, designed by architecture firm Modellus Novus, will be unveiled in 2024.

About Chef Kwame Onwuachi Onwuachi, who currently owns Tatiana in New York City, has penned multiple books like his successful memoir Notes from a Young Black Chef and the bestselling cookbook My America: Recipes from a Young Black Chef. He has also been a contestant and a judge on Bravo’s Top Chef. In 2019, he was acclaimed by Esquire as its Chef of the Year, recognized by Food & Wine as one of its Best New Chefs, and named by the James Beard Foundation as "Rising Star Chef of the Year.” Tatiana has been hailed as the city’s best restaurant by the New York Times and received multiple stellar reviews.
