For the Student-Athlete
THESE PROGRAMS ARE BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE SAM CIOFFI STUDENT-ATHLETE WELLNESS FUND.
Sam Cioffi was a Salem State student-athlete and a proud Vikings men’s lacrosse team member. He set Salem State’s single-game and season scoring record in 2022 and was named honorable mention for the LEC conference team. Sam was also the 2022 recipient of the Salem State VeSPY award for a record-breaking season.
We honor Sam’s legacy by offering support for student-athlete mental and physical wellness and athletic and academic excellence through generous contributions to the Sam Cioffi Student-Athlete Wellness Fund.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICES
Academic support services are available to student-athletes, including study skills workshops, tutoring and specialized labs in mathematics, reading, writing, computers, and individual planning sessions.
STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is an organization of student-athlete representatives from each varsity sports team. SAAC plans community service projects, encourages athletes to be involved in campus-wide activities, and informs athletes of important NCAA legislation.
Salem State previously won the NCAA Division III Spotlight Poll for its community service programs with Special Olympics.
LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM
Salem State athletics focuses on integrating five commitment areas into the student athlete experience: athletic excellence, academic excellence, personal development, career development, and service.
