A MASTER OF NURSING GRADUATE PROGRAM (MSN) WITH MULTIPLE TRACK OPTIONS.
MSN (NO SPECIALIZATION)
Baccalaureate-prepared registered nurses can advance their practice without specializing. The program graduates are also prepared to pursue a post-master’s certificate of their own interest.
MSN – ADULT-GERONTOLOGY PRIMARY CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER (AGPCNP)
Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to sit for board exams and earn a certification to be licensed to practice as an Adult-Gerontology
Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
POST-BACCALAUREATE CERTIFICATE IN NURSING EDUCATION
Salem State’s Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Nursing Education is designed for registered nurses who already have a bachelor’s degree in nursing and would like to become nurse faculty, clinical faculty, simulation designer, or professional development educator. Upon completion, students are eligible to take the Nurse Educator Exam and become Certified Nurse Educators (CNE). The program is delivered fully online.
CURRICULUM HIGHLIGHTS
Graduates are equipped to make significant contributions and meet the many challenges of the dynamic health care environment. The curriculum builds upon baccalaureate nursing education and provides advanced training in theory, research, policy and practice.
The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
For Massachusetts residents, each credit costs $514.20,* which includes tuition and fees. For non-Massachusetts residents, each credit costs $609.30.* The MSN program is 30-45 credits (excluding prerequisites). The post-baccalaureate certificate in nursing education nine (9) credits.

MSN-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) from a NLN or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Experienced and licensed Registered Nurses who have a (U.S.) bachelor’s degree in another discipline are also eligible to apply
• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Cumulative undergraduate GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Applicants do not need to submit a GRE score. GRE scores will only be required for applicants who have a total combined undergraduate GPA below a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Interview with program faculty is required for the AGNP program
• Basic undergraduate or graduate statistics course with a grade of C or better
• TOEFL or IELTS scores for all international candidates who have English as a second language
• Students with equivalent international credentials will be considered for admission
• One year of relevant clinical professional nursing experience is required prior to entering into any of the clinical courses in the three program tracks
