PROGRAM
This advanced online master’s in elementary education is designed for practicing teachers looking to strengthen their professional knowledge and skill. Through online coursework, students will gain innovative and cutting-edge knowledge in pedagogy, leadership and action research.*

COURSEWORK OPTIONS
The program is 30 credits. There is an 18-credit core and 12 credits of Subject Matter Knowledge (SMK) content courses. In Massachusetts, to obtain your professional license, you will need to have taught under your initial license for a minimum of three years, to have completed a relevant graduate degree, and to document a minimum of 12 credits of graduate-level courses in the SMK content courses. The 12 credits may be included in the graduate degree.

COST
For Massachusetts residents, each credits costs $464.30* which includes tuition and fees. For non-Massachusetts residents, each credit costs $559.40.* The program is 30 credits (excluding prerequisites).
For assistance funding your graduate education, options such as financial aid, graduate assistantships, employer reimbursement and tuition remission, and veteran’s bene fi ts may be available.

Initial license in elementary education and professional letters of recommendation are preferred from (in order of preference) a) professors, b) supervisors in related professions.

After completing the MEd in elementary education, teachers with an initial license can apply for their professional license if they have met other requirements from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
