Lisa Marie Presley 1968 – 2023
Lisa Marie Presley, only child of the late “King of Rock’’ Elvis Presley and his then wife Pricilla has passed away. She was 54 years old. Her mother Priscilla confirmed the devasting news in a statement released to the press. “Lisa Marie went into cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas California and sadly later died in hospital.’’
Despite her famous surname, Lisa Marie kept a relatively low profile. However, in 1980 after both her grandparents died, she became the sole surviving heir of her late father’s $100 million estate, which included his Mega residence “Graceland’’ in Memphis, Tennessee.
In 1997 Lisa Marie celebrated the 20th anniversary of her father’s death by releasing a song recorded by Elvis in 1969 called “Don’t Cry Daddy.’’ The song was released as a duet with her father’s vocals and presented on August 16, 1997 at the tribute concert that marked the 20th anniversary of Elvis’s death.
Lisa Marie was 9 years old when her father Elvis Presley died. Despite trying to maintain a low profile, her tumultuous personal life, which included 4 marriages and 4 divorces made headlines for all the wrong reasons. She led a troubled life which ultimately contributed to her tragic death.
Lisa Marie’s first marriage was to Chicago-born musician DANNY KEOGH. (1988-1994)
The marriage produced 2 children Riley Keogh an actress and Benjamin Keough a musician. Unfortunately, Benjamin committed suicide in July 2022. He was 27.
In 1994 Lisa Marie married Super Star MICHAEL JACKSON, the marriage lasted 2 years and they divorced in 1996. However, according to multiple sources Lisa Marie, was a devoted fan of Michael Jackson and actually met Jackson at one of his shows in Las Vegas, when she was 17. The couple divorced in 1996, citing “irreconcilable differences.’’ Lisa Marie later admitted that “they were actually still together on and off for four years.
Lisa Marie then married multi-award winning actor NICOLAS CAGE in Hawaii on the 25th anniversary of Elvis’ death in 2002. Unfortunately, the marriage did not last and they divorced in 2004. After her death, Cage announced in an emotional tribute that Lisa Marie “lit up every room, and I am heartbroken.’’ Lisa Marie’s longest marriage was with musician MICHAEL LOCKWOOD (2006 – 2021) which lasted for over a decade. The marriage produced twin daughters Harper and Finley, now 14. However, their drawn-out divorce was brutal, with court proceedings exposing Lisa Marie’s battle with addiction to painkillers and opioids.
Following her sudden death Lisa Marie was laid to rest on the 22nd of January, 2023 alongside her father Elvis and son Benjamin in the Meditation Garden at her childhood home “Graceland’’ in Tennessee.
