‘Balls to That’ regional launch The official launch of our new mental health awareness programme ‘Balls to That’ took place recently at the offices of CheckdMedia in Manchester with more than 40 members of staff in attendance. This groundbreaking new mental health awareness programme is designed to promote wellbeing in workplaces right across the North West and involves Afghanistan army veteran Craig Monaghan as well as other coaches from the Trust. Eat Well, Play Safe festival Trust coach Jo Edwards orgnaised a special festival involving five schools and more than 100 children from Greater Manchester to celebrate our Eat Well, Play Safe programme, sponsored by Cargill. The programme covers subjects including healthy eating, the importance of a balanced diet and the need for regular exercise and Samantha Smid, a teacher at Irlam Endowed, said: “The kids loved it all, especially receiving their flags. The morning was fun and really well organised.”

Creative Academy gets underway
Walking Rugby with the over 50s
One of our most exciting programme launches of the year so took place in Liverpool recently when we welcomed the first participants to the Creative Academy!
We’re continuing to make great strides with the over 50s as part of a Walking Rugby pilot project funded by One You Trafford and the Trafford Partnership.
Run in partnership with Liverpoolbased MD Productions at the newly refurbished Tapestry building in Liverpool, Creative Academy is designed to help young people discover their creative spark. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
We’ve already worked with 25 men and women, almost all of whom have never been involved with rugby before, and one of the participants, Kim Rothwell, told us: “I have learnt new skills - having never played any form of rugby before - and made new friends.
