Almost Spring When bitterness of snow and ice Have almost left the scene And robins can be spotted now, Though not a trace of green… We know that Spring is coming soon; In fact, it’s almost here! And warmer days – we give God praise, Fill our soul with cheer. Early flowers, like crocuses, Soon will lift their heads… Then hyacinths and pussy willows Found by a river bed. All of Nature reflects our God, It’s Him of Whom we sing! So much beauty will come to be; For now, it’s almost Spring. Margaret Peterson

Sometimes “Why?” Sometimes the heart grows weary, Sometimes a bird’s without song, Sometimes our tears seem unending And we feel we can’t carry on. Life can be a difficult journey As we sail from various shore to shore; We wish to rise above with eagles’ wings, But daily seem to take a nosedive toward the floor.

“Oh dear,” we cry out for solutions and answers And sometimes none seem to arrive. We fret, worry, and tremble so, Wondering how we’ll be able to survive. Then out of the blue God softly whispers, “My child, tie a knot and hold on. Have faith, a rose blossoms in perfect timing And the inspiring song of a bird isn’t gone.” Lift your sorrowful heart heavenward in prayer As well as your troubled soul, singing the blues. Sometimes the rainbows are delayed just a while As we grow from a shower or two. Give the “whys” to a higher power For God alone understands your desperate cry. Believe He has the answer to all your dilemmas – Take heart, on the wings of faith you’ll fly! Linda C. Grazulis

Prayer for My Child Dear Lord, I pray my child may know The peaceful woods that I love so – Fresh, sparkling brooks and woodland bowers, Free, flitting birds and sweet, wild flowers, Each tiny shrub and stately tree, All wildlife wonders known to me. Oh Lord, I pray my child so dear Shall relish Nature through the year – Quite cool and green with Summer shade, Ablaze with glory Fall has made, Soft blanketed with snow of white, Reborn new with springtime bright. Dear Lord, I pray my child may love Each bug and toad and cooing dove, The rabbits, squirrels, and creatures small, Each stone and bush and blossom all, Then my young child will come to know Have you ever watched the sunrise The God Who loves His children so. As it rose in the eastern sky, How itLouise slowly Pugh leavesCorder the horizon And a new day dawns on high? Have you ever been amazed by its beauty When the sun sets in the western sky, Hear my cry for help, it leaves behind an array of color my King,How my God! And recedes from its watchful eye? To You I pray, O Lord. Now darkness is soon to follow, Psalm 5:3 ’Tis the final hours of the day; When compared to the span of our lifetime, We’ll liken our days this way. So we must live each day to the fullest, And to God be faithful and true; From the time of our life’s sunrise Until life’s sunset is due.
