“Hail, Mary” Gabriel, God’s messenger, Was delighted when he came To Mary, in her innocence, And did to her proclaim That she was highly favored And full of God’s pure grace, For she would bear the Son of God To dwell among this place. When Mary had absorbed this news And gone to her kin’s side, The words she brought Elizabeth Inspired joy inside. “You are blessed among us all And, too, the fruit you bear.” And how blest we, yet to this day, To be in God’s own care. Ruthmarie Brooks Silver Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Luke 1:30

Not Just Another Day Christmas is not “just another day,” It is a blessed time we set apart, In honor of the little newborn King, When joy and peace should fill each weary heart. Christmas is a time for looking up, And finding in our lives that one bright Star. Christmas is the rock on which we base The fundamental truths of what we are. Christmas is renewing, once again The friendships we have treasured through the years, Of brushing back the cobwebs from the mind, To make a place for love when it appears. It is a Miracle clutched tightly to Its mother’s breast upon a bed of hay, A ragged little donkey and an ox, Whose memory we celebrate today. Grace E. Easley “For today in the city of David a Savior has been born for you Who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an Infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:11-12

Christmas Tree We gaze upon the Christmas tree, Such beauty we astound. For God gave to the Christmas tree A message to be found. Its branches with conformity Express such peace and love, And from the bottom to the top It points to Heaven above. We decorate the Christmas tree With ornaments so bright. God smiles upon its branches So we may see true light. It glistens with great holiness And near the tree we place A manger scene with the Babe Who, to the world, brings grace.
