Who Needs a Pot of Gold? What is the greatest “treasure” of all? It’s not in the “pot of gold” Supposedly at the end of the rainbow, Though that is what we’ve been told. The greatest treasure is the love of God, Free to each one for the taking. Each must give himself full in return, Everyone else forsaking. Each day becomes a “right road to Heaven,” With no temptation too strong; Chances appear to ask others to join you… Invite them to come right along! Margaret Peterson

Come! Let Us Go! Come! Let us go and take a walk Upon this wondrous springtime day. Let us wander hither and yon On this beautiful time in May. Icy Winter has passed us by, But it did bring glistening snow; And we delighted in sledding, As down the steep hills we would go. For a moment now let us pause And breathe in perfumes in the air. Look! Look in every direction, For there are flowers everywhere. What a wondrous world God has made With seasons graced by His Sure Hand. Come! Ere Spring cedes to Summer’s reign, Then Autumn’s gold that He has planned. Henry W. Gurley

Thank the Earth In gratefulness we thank the earth… For the many blessings she can birth. We need to treat her with respect… For the many things we now expect. With hopeful hearts we plant a seed… Carefully tending to its need. Kissed by the sun and watered with care… A sprout breaks through to greet the air. As a precious plant is born to earth… Thank Mother Nature for its birth. You’ll reap the harvest of dreams come true… As the seed you nurtured… will nurture you. Kay E. Richardson

Life’s Sunrise and Sunset Have you ever watched the sunrise rose in the eastern sky, Truth will spring As fromit the earth; How it slowly leaves the horizon justice will look down from Heaven. a new day dawns on high? PsalmAnd 85:12 Have you ever been amazed by its beauty When the sun sets in the western sky, How it leaves behind an array of color And recedes from its watchful eye? Now darkness is soon to follow, ’Tis the final hours of the day; When compared to the span of our lifetime, We’ll liken our days this way. So we must live each day to the fullest, And to God be faithful and true; From the time of our life’s sunrise Until life’s sunset is due. Hazel Yoho 11

His Joy Will Rain on You Soon after Winter’s bitter chill, There comes a fleeting breeze, By touching, light, a barren branch, Brings magic to the trees. Like the Magi bringing gold and myrrh To Christ, God’s newborn Son, Death is lifted from the earth; Life abounds for everyone. Soon trees and flowers have been redressed And color’s everywhere; The birds begin their hymn of thanks For springtime, soft and fair.

Butterflies and robins flit, Each looking for a treat; Either nectar from a velvet rose Or worms, it’s just as sweet. The season flies like winged things And warmth begins to blaze; We can’t forget God’s precious gifts He gave on cooler days. The changes come from year to year But the Father’s plan stands true: When life is touched with love and hope, His joy will rain on you. Nancy Watson Dodrill
