On Christmas Day No room at the inn was there for them, No room for them to stay. No room for the birth of Christ Child Upon this Christmas Day. Then in a lowly manger The Infant Christ did lay As the Star in the East shone brightly Upon this Christmas Day. We are so prone to fast forget The meaning of this day And think in terms of joy and mirth And in a festive way. It is a day, a special day To show our faith and love; A day to kneel in reverence To Christ, the Lord above. Harold F. Mohn 1

And She Said, “Yes” Mary, so pure of heart and mind, Was called into His grace. He had, indeed, invited her To save the human race. So young and pure and innocent With questions deep within; And yet she chose immediately To say “Yes, Lord” to Him. For God Himself had spoken – She did not understand. His total love surrounded her For she was in God’s hands. Sweet virgin child called Mary, Now mother of us all, Your loving arms embrace us And enfold us when we fall. May we, with strength and courage, Accept His call to grace; May we say, “Yes,” and walk with Him In each and every space. Ruthmarie Brooks Silver

Christmas Morning Now, when Christmas morning comes, If there is no Christmas tree With bright lights and an angel And presents laid out beneath; If there is no festive feast, Or holly and mistletoe, It shall still be Christmas Day Nonetheless, because you know, Christmas morning is God’s gift Of love and mercy so mild; Yes, the gift of our Savior, Coming to us as a Child. To Baby Jesus A special invitation has been sent To Baby Jesus this Advent. For I prepare a place… the very best, Oh, Jesus, be my honored Guest. My whole life is a gift to You – Every action that I do. You’ll be honored every day In every thought and word I say. A pleasant home it will be, Oh, Baby Jesus, come and see. Come with the Father and Spirit too, And stay forever, I beg of You. Barbara Joan Million

Advent Soon, the angels will be singing, Soon will come the starry night When a Savior King lies sleeping Wrapped in Glory’s golden light. Once more comes sweet absolution, The prophecy of ancient deeps, As Heaven’s choir proclaims His birth, Forgiveness, in a manger, sleeps. Bea Lotz
