OUTLINE FOR SEEKING A STRATEGIC PARTNER FOR FAIRFAX INDUSTRIES
BACKGROUND Fairfax has been building special vehicles using composites for more than 35 years, and has developed a unique method of monocoque (large single structure with no frame or joints) construction offering superb insulation, structural strength and longevity. It has dominated the NZ market for refrigerated heavy vehicles for many years and is ripe for development into foreign markets. THE OPPORTUNITY Fairfax is looking for a strategic partner which will purchase a share in both the Intellectual Property and the business itself in New Zealand. The partner would ideally be using this type of vehicle as a component of its product offering, which will give it a competitive edge in its market in terms of performance. Fairfax is looking for NZ$2.0 million for this opportunity, this will secure the majority of the shareholding WHAT MAKES THE PROPERTY UNIQUE?
INTELLECTUAL
The whole body is a single piece. There is no internal framework and no joints, therefore there is no opportunity to leak or crack. The structural rigidity is such that no chassis beam is required, which reduces overall weight. Openings can be cut at almost any place as there is no framework, which also reduces electrical interference.
Outside Broadcast units
The materials used are similar to that of the marine industry, but the process and methodology is unique and developed over 35 years. The melding of marine technologies with transportation is very unusual. WHAT TYPE OF STRATEGIC PARTNER? Fairfax is looking for a business investor who has customers in the health and/or highly specialised vehicles construction sector. The purpose of such a relationship is to create synergy with Fairfax’s unique intellectual property and the investor’s access to significant customers.
