Foreword This is the second collection of work from Making Comics at Syn Studio in downtown Montreal!
This was the first run of my own curriculum, pretty happy with how it went. Early in the course I had students start doing short haiku comics daily for a week, some of the best volunteered for publishing by students are gems to be found in here. There’s some really strong work in this collection again, and student evaluations tell me people were pretty charged up by the course! Cool to hear. I really enjoyed teaching them and expect to see more good things from this gang! Several of those who didn’t complete the course were doing interesting work too. Hope they keep trying and remember to have fun with it. Comics are tough, often deceptively so. Getting a short story done in just 10 classes is a good test of if you can enjoy the process, even if you don’t love your first results! Enjoy the shorts and the haikus everyone! -Salgood Sam
