Whether you are delega;ng or empowering, remember: 1.  Provide a clear explana;on of the responsibili;es and tasks given. Make sure the person agrees and understands completely. 2.  Provide measureable outcomes to hold the person accountable for the assignment. 3.  Give the person the la;tude and authority to obtain the resources needed to do the job. 4.  As the leader the buck stops with you. You are responsible for the success or failure.

7 Con;nuity is one of the most essen;al aRributes of a successful chapter. The president should take the lead in training newly elected and appointed officers and preparing them for the transi;on of chapter leadership. It is helpful to have a chapter leadership transi;on plan.

A Leader’s Las;ng Value Is Measured By Succession, Law #21 of John Maxwell's The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. •  “By creaEng a leadership culture, preparing the organizaEon for change, and by planning for smooth succession, a leader can leave a lasEng legacy. . . A leader’s lasEng value is measured by the legacy le] behind.” •  Leadership success is defined by the sustainability of the organizaEon a]er a leader’s departure. •  Maxwell teaches that “a leader’s lasEng legacy will not be measured by the buildings we build, the insEtuEons we establish, or what our team accomplished.
