january - winter jasmine; on an east wall hanging over the herb bed
january - dried oak leaves; blown in from the ancient oaks in the ďŹ eld
february - hellebora; cream and purple colour at the front of the house
february - hellebora; purple in the courtyard
february - snowdrops; just a few, then a friend brought round loads and we planted more
march - daodils; on the banks of the beck
april - english bluebells; appearing all over, but I would like them to be on our woodland oor too
april - japanese owering cherry; 2 weeks of pink blush on the drive culminating in pink snow
april - delphniums; a gift which we planted, however, the slugs adore them
april - primroses everywhere; in abundance, growing out of walls, on the path banks, in the bamber bed
april - magnolia stalata; high on the rock bed right of the stone steps
may - wild quince (japonica); in the couryard and in front of the house
may - campion; in the wild ower bed under the lilac and goat willow
may - campion; in abundance in the wild ower bed again
may - mountain cornflower; in the wild flower bed
july - meadowsweet, on the roadside just below middle earth
may - cuckoo flower; or mayflower standing tall with the buttercups all over the garden
june - orange hawkweed; on the bank below the studio window
june - blueberry owers; they turn to blueberries which the birds managed to eat before me
may - welsh poppy; hanging on the walls by the beck and in the courtyard
july - iris; a gift, planted by the studio bridge, hopefully they will take over the shaded damp area
july - agapanthus; in a pot on the studio terrace, a memory of trips to the scillies
july - delphiniums; one that survived the slugs
august - nasturtiums; kept in pots in the studio, lovely chaos
august - montbretia; or crocosmia, huge bundles of orange
september - dragon heart geraniums; all over the garden and increasing in number
october - fresias; a gift from a neighbour, kept in clear glass vase in the studio
november - variegated ivy; climbing over the rock beds all year round
december - dried hydrangea; taken from the beck gate on the drive and kept in the studio
november - berberis; outside the dining room window
december - holly; from the tree in the far north west corner of the garden
december - viburnum ferrari nanum; in the woodland patch on the drive
