Project triggers: -Create a mental map, a unique walking experience. -Seeing the site as the illustrator moves through space, allowing the viewer to see space as a serie of revelations. -Creating anticipation through the manipulation of the existing and the emerging views. -Create a diversion to the plaza and connect it with the existing Oued. The serial vision: As in a ďŹ lm, the pictorial sequences of the urban space transport the observer from scene to another.
International multi-comfort student contest 15th edition, The urban village of Crescenzago, Italy.
Develop the district with regards to local settings and conditions, historical background. Promote green spaces, the well-being of humans and nature. Limits
and
borders,
A boundary is a line that divide space, marks the beginning and / or end of an expanse, showing the passage from one place to another. From this mark, we enter another space, it is the hinge between two spaces. The list does not have to be physical, it can be suggested implicitly or explicitly. It can be marked by a wall, shadows-light, roof, walk, change of materials on the ground etc ..., it is essential as an important element that divides and separates our spaces. These limits, fundamental architectural elements, have long been the archetypes of separation, dividing our homes, cities and nations. It is therefore reasonable to question the quality of space resulting from these limits, to improve the spatial quality, experiential and appropriable of our daily spaces.
On a global scale, states are separated by borders, natural or manmade, they remain limits that control the movement. On a smaller scale, that of the city, neighborhoods, the street, home, up to the simple contact between two human beings, this limit is always present, materialized by walls of enclosure which surrounds and encloses properties and public space.
Intelligence 9 : African coast line Jacques Rougerie fondation’s international competition in architecture: space and sea, Casablanca, Morocco.
In a process of opening up and protecting the coast, working with nature and placing the human being, its movement, its activities at the center of design, intelligence 9 offers sustainable solutions in order to solve the problems of the coast and the regeneration of its ecosystem. Inspired by the octopus, its developed nervous system and its complex sensory organs, our project offers an architecture for social and cultural interaction, thus connecting Oued Merzeg beach to the city of Casablanca.
An environmental development, by intervening on all parts of the beach zone, injecting a structure that will help solving problems on several levels, its multi-pode system placed on the beatch line, limit between the sea and the continent will help stabilize the area. the orientation of the arms connecting the podes creating a network that traps sand and fatten the beach naturally thus creating micro spaces for a natural regereration of the ecosystem.
The Blue axis: north / south: - The Ramp, as an architectural element which marks the beginning of the project, an alley towards the blue, towards the sea. - This element also facilitates access for people with reduced mobility to the beach and to our project. - The north / south focus frames the natural landscape and traces a direct axis towards the heart of the project. The intersection of the two axes Blue and Green marks the center of our project. - Accessibility to the site by road 27223. - Plan a pedestrian avenue at limited speed. - Elimination of second parking lanes, promotes safer driving and frees up space. - Plan a bicycle axis. - Provide a diagonal platform, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to pass, and facilities for people with reduced mobility.
DUNE FACILITIES: Soft techniques will be used for the rprotection of the dunes: - due to the extraction of sand in the beach, we will proceed using the technique of "beach scrapping" which consists of taking this sediment deposited at the bottom of the beach and reassembling it at the foot of the dune. There is no problem of compatibility of the sands since it comes from the same range. After the beach scrapping, small arrangements in the form of ganivelles, also called "Gironde barrier", is a formed by the assembly of wooden slats (usually chestnut calibrated 45 mm wide and 13 thick): slats are vertical, separated from each other by a space whose width determines the "permeability" of the barrier, and assembled by turns of galvanized wire. The ramp of the green axis will also be an element that will allow both access for people with reduced mobility to the beach, and a green axis protecting the dunes, its wooden structure will stabilize the sand and protect it from erosion effects. It will be connected to the architectural project, part of the facade of the central pole, and absorb moisture using halophilic plants on its surface, thus creating a hanging garden, connecting the sand dunes in the east to the halophilic garden in the west.

Problematic: How to revitalise the marginalised districts ? How to enhance a sence of place among locals from everywhere? - Humanize a Large ensemble: Assets: - A large percentage of young people: energy and human potential. - Cultural diversity. Solutions: - Creation of a space for intercultural dialogue and social interaction. - Target young people, a dialogue between cultures and generations. - Acupuncture: Inject our Algeco module in several points, creating a series of Landmarks, A pathern connected to a mobile application attracting the inhabitants of others districts.
Ben guĂŠrir modular Souk/Plazza, Morocco.
Understanding the existing environment : Wind: Very low to absent wind action and that is due to the hot arid dominating climate. The at landscape is categorized with direct exposition to sunlight and the absence of large wide trees therefore the rarity of shaded cool spots. Existing vegetation: Problems: -
Hot dry atmosphere Excess of sun light Absence of greenery The absence of the aquatic element Excess of sunlight Lack of shading Plain flat scenery Lack of the vegetal element in the city
Man-made environment: - The gap design between the center of the city and the green city. - Linear centrality. - Re-think the accessibility and circulation and connectivity,.
One site, two scenarios: The modular Souk Plaza of Benguerir : - A Modular installation that transforme the project scene , from plaza to a Weekly Souk.
-Collect of rain water system inspired by the moroccan old medinas canalisation system.
Ben guérir modular Souk/Plazza, Morocco.
Plastic weaving, today made in the oasis of Maghreb Sahara, are at the crossroads of local traditions and « modern » borrowings. They represent one element of the global process of cultural interactions between Saharan world and Western world, one of these "two" into which any interbreeding of materials, technical knowledge, aesthetic standards and practices artifacts take place. Water management systems that collect raiwater management systems inspired by the traditional moroccan system Khetara.
Reducing the overall consumption and ensuring efficient use The use of photovoltaic fibre on the roof to capture solar energy.
The use of local materials such as : - adobe brick - straw coating - wood -recycled plastic -Recycled concrete
