Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy W: www.simonethomas.com E: westbourne@simonethomas.com T: 01202 760003

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to COVID-19. All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. I know I have had good days and bad days as well as a few crazy hair days in between! I have missed the team and the buzz in Westbourne and the salon. The team have been reaching out to me weekly saying how much they miss the salon and clients and they can’t wait to offer you the services that we know you love. We are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible. I also have something rather exciting for our clients and the team; the salon has been refurbished throughout and installed with all new equipment for the safety of you and the staff. During the time the salon has been shut, all of the staff and management have completed various courses including the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for the beauty industry. I have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit. My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of.

Booking Appointments If any of our staff feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that we will either have to cancel your appointment at short notice or offer you the same appointment with another staff member. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled, you will be able to re-book again or you can ask for a full refund.

Visiting the Salon For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving. I have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets, door handles etc are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client. We have always used Mundo for infection control and have a basement full of virus protection control cleaning products. All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturer’s instructions for your safety. I have also had new electric sterile machines installed on every hair station which is used for all hair tools in between clients.

visit and during your service. This may include disposable gloves /facemasks / aprons where appropriate. I can confirm that any laundering is a priority and we use a third party for all high temperature cleaning. We have moved to single use products moving forward with eco-friendly towels and gowns have been removed to be replaced with disposable gowns. All our disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the workstations between each client. Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items during a service that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection. All our waste is removed by a third party, this has been in place for 8 years and we will continue to do this as a weekly collection service with our specialist bins outside. You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands with as soon as you enter the salon in the bathroom, we use single use eco-friendly hand towels. There is also Mundo hand sanitisers available throughout the salon as well as an automatic hand sanitiser stand and machine at reception which dispenses the gel (the same as the ones in the hospital) for you to use when you come into the salon and leave the salon. We will understand and not be offended if you wish to wear a facemask or wear disposable gloves when you visit the salon and during your service if this is appropriate. Please don’t be surprised or upset if your staff use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your

I have removed all magazines and our wellness library at this moment in time due to guidelines, our wellness library will be back with our amazing selection of books but at this moment in time they are stored away.

Our services We have carried out a risk assessment on all services and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely.

During your treatment Our staff understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment. We will try to make your appointment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your appointment, please let us know and we will do what we can to satisfy you.

After your appointment In order to avoid handling of cash, we would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card. All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
