Behind the scenes

Leah Miles, Honey Dorey and Rose Bradshaw worked tirelessly, as members of the L’Oréal Professionnel Portfolio Team, to help create the latest catwalk styles at the recent Graduate Fashion Week. The looks were varied in design and complexity – from exciting interactive up do’s to loose, natural curls.

It was a thrilling experience to work alongside emerging fashion designers at such a dynamic event.

We’re hoping our stellar business skills shine at the British Hairdressing Business Awards. The Peach Street salon has made it into the finals for Best Salon Design, so watch this space to find out how we get on!

Our stylists are looking to shoot to stardom at the British Hairdressing Awards.

Ryan Nicoletti-Dowd (who was a finalist last year) and Alicia Randall, both from the Caversham salon, are competing for a place in the highly sought after award.

Hair advice from the experts

Colour Saver

Quick curls

Place the barrel midstrand, then wrap hair around it. Hold, don’t clamp, for 10 seconds.

Banish static

Spritz a shine spray directly on to your brush to smooth flyaway strands.

Watts up

Always use a hairdryer with at least 1,600 watts. It will shave minutes off styling sessions, even at low power.

Speed dry

Squeeze water out of your hair with a towel instead of rubbing. Then blow-dry with a vent brush.

Rain check

If it’s raining, tuck your hair behind your ears with gel to keep it frizz-free.

Always wash coloured hair in tepid water – hot water will strip away your colour.
