Strong bonds are vital to hair strength, elasticity and flexibility. Increased breakage and fragility is a sign that disulfide bonds have been broken.
SHINE & SHEEN:
The ability for hair to reflect light depends on intact bonds in the cuticle and the balance of lipids and amino acids. The outermost part of the hair strand that protects the inner structure.
Cortex:
The thickest layer of the hair strand and contributes to the hair’s strength, elasticity.
Medulla:
The inner most part of the hair strand that contributes to hair strength and elasticity, and color
* The medulla is the central part of the hair shaft and is only found in thicker or coarser hair. It's usually not present in fine or naturally blonde hair.

HAIR TEXURES
Hair textures are defined by the thickness of a single hair strand.
TEXTURE: FINE
This hair is fragile, may not hold style well, and is often prone to become oily easily. It's hard to see or feel a single strand.
TEXTURE: MEDIUM
This is the most common hair type, and it's thicker than fine hair but not as thick as coarse hair. Often feels smooth and can typically hold styles better.
TEXTURE: COARSE
This hair has thicker individual hairs, and it's more tolerant to heat, styling products, hair dye, and breakage than fine or medium hair. It may be prone to frizz and often doesn't retain water as well as other hair types.
HAIR DENSITY
Hair density is determined by the number of strands of hair growing out of each square-inch of the scalp.
DENSITY: LOW
Lower number of strands per square inch on the scalp, making the hair appear thin and the scalp more visible. It can be easily weighed down by heavy products.
DENSITY: MEDIUM
The most common and has a more than average number of strands on the scalp. It responds well to a variety of products, including hydrating shampoos, conditioners, and styling products
DENSITY: HIGH
Has the most strands per square inch, making it appear thick and full, and often making the scalp difficult to see
HAIR POROSITY
The measure of how well hair absorbs and holds moisture and products.
POROSITY: LOW
Closed cuticle: The cuticle is tight enough to repel water, requiring more time to become fully saturated. Products are not easily absorbed and tend to sit on top of hair with potential build up.
POROSITY: MEDIUM
Slightly opened cuticle: The cuticle layer is loose but has no holes or gaps, so just enough moisture enters without it leaving again. It tends to need little maintenance.
POROSITY: HIGH
Open cuticle: Holes and gaps in the cuticle allow moisture to be absorbed easily but also lost easily. More products are required to lock in moisture.

Mix OLAPLEX®No.2 BOND PERFECTOR® and protein treatment in equal amounts and apply to highly porous / damaged areas. Place under a dryer with no cap until the hair is dry. Using a water spray bottle, re-moisten the hair before proceeding to service.

CONSULTATION:
✓ Prior to beginning the service, have a full consultation to discuss hair history and set the expectations for results.
PREP:
✓ Cleanse hair with Nº4C BOND MAINTENANCE® CLARIFYING SHAMPOO for up to 5 minutes to remove product buildup and damaging impurities. For best results or extreme buildup, follow with BROAD SPECTRUM CHELATING TREATMENT as directed.
STEP 1: REPAIR
✓ Dispense 50mL* into an applicator bottle. Section hair into 4 quadrants and apply STEP 1 in small sections until hair is evenly saturated. Rake through hair in a downward motion to ensure product is fully saturated. Process for 10 minutes. Do not rinse.
*To keep hair damp during application, use a water spray bottle if needed.
*Amount depends on hair length and density. For short lengths, use less product. For long or dense lengths, add more product as needed.
STEP 2: ENHANCE
✓ Taking small sections, spray STEP 2 until hair is thoroughly saturated. Scrunch into curls to ensure product is properly worked through. Process for 10 minutes. Do not rinse.
STEP 3: DEFINE
✓ Starting with a small amount, evenly distribute STEP 3 section by section from root to tip. Mist with STEP 2 to re-wet hair if needed. Proceed with desired curl-defining technique.Air dry or use preferred drying method. Do not wash hair for 48 hours.
