What is the latest trend in ﬂooring?

Trends for this year and beyond are based around sustainability, with a deﬁnite move towards quality ﬂooring materials that will stand the test of time, negating the need for quick replacements and giving way to a timeless look that has a simpler vibe. Herringbone-laid woods or luxury vinyl tiles continue to be popular, and I am seeing clients opting for more oak shades, which bring warmth and a classical, timeless look to a room. Loop pile carpets are often favoured on stairs and in bedrooms, adding texture and interest but with a calming quality.

How do you help a client decide?

First, consider the room where the flooring is going to be laid. Size, shape and lighting play an important part in making the right choice. Style is also important and whilst it is easy to get carried away with the many options in our showrooms, it is crucial that the flooring you choose suits what you already have in your home. Practicality is key, so consider footfall and room function as this will help influence your decision. We are there to help you.
