A Stockport Grammar dance show full of Nutcracker delights

Ninety girls and boys took to the stage to perform in the autumn 2022 dance show, American Allstars. Across three performances, the cast delighted the school community with its talent and enthusiasm. With pupils ranging from First Year to Upper Sixth, and all levels of ability, from beginners to experienced dancers, the show was a joyous expression of music and dance.

The first half of the show was a fast-paced mix of group, duet and solo dances in styles that included jazz, contemporary, urban, lyrical, modern and tap. The second act of the dance show showcased the Nutcracker Sweeties, a stand-alone dance production set to the jazz arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s orchestral Nutcracker Ballet Suite by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.
