An exciting, interactive and memorable visit to a Salvation Army place of worship
What is Ultimate Church Visit? ● A fun and valuable visit to The Salvation Army for primary school children aged 5-11. ● Fits into many areas of the school curriculum, particularly RE and Citizenship. ● Allows pupils to meet people in their community and experience faith first-hand.
How does it work?
● A visit usually lasts for a morning or afternoon and works best with one class at a time. ● Pupils are organised into small groups and travel around a series of zones (usually 3 or 4 zones). ● In each zone pupils explore, with the help of a leader, a different aspect of The Salvation Army.
How does it work? â—? Zones can include Worship, History, Community work, Symbols, Bible, Music, International work, Homelessness and Uniform. â—? Activities vary for younger and older pupils, but could include drama, stories, music, DVD clips, discussion, questions and quizzes.
How does it work? â—? Pupil workbooks are provided to help pupils record what they have learnt. â—? The visit encourages pupils to express their thoughts and opinions and to reflect on their own values and beliefs.
How do I arrange an Ultimate Church Visit? ● Contact your local Salvation Army church to discuss the possibility of organising a visit. ● A team may be able to hold a visit at your school if visiting the church isn’t practical. Find out more at www.salvationarmy.org.uk/schools
